Habs next year
Apparently VAN is not interested in Monahan.
If they were to trade Lekkerimäki, it wouldn't be for that package.

Going for it
I like the look of the roster. Personally I would probably target Lindholm over Guentzel as I would prefer center depth and I believe the cost would be quite a but less than what you have here for Guentzel.

Well in all fairness, Kuzmenko has been a 5.5M 3-4th line player (or scratch) this season.

if the next month goes bad
I actually think VAN would be fairly interested in this, if no younger options were available. Not sure VAN would want to add the 2nd ,but if Kuzmenko were taken back as part of the package they might be ok with it (VAN would need to move Kuzmenko to make the cap work anyways).

Random rumor sites proposed trades
If those were the costs for those players, I would rather pay the Zegas cost and bring him to Vancouver than the Guentzel cost. Zegas is a player VAN would get a lot of years out of and plays centre which gives the team a lot more flexibility with their lines. It would be very difficult for VAN to resign Guentzel and it would come at the cost of a D or C piece.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>westleysnipez</b></div><div>I think I can agree with that. It would be a late 1st from a strong team with retention; Monahan at 992.5K and going to a Top-5 team is possible. I don't think it would be VAN though. They've gone on record saying they'll only trade the 1st for a long-term solution.</div></div>
Sure hope they stick to that, it's the right call in my opinion.

Value probably isn't to far off, someone will offer at least a 2024 2nd though. Wouldn't be shocked if someone offers a late 1st either.

Deadline
If playoffs are what matters right now, then I would rather have Cole than Fabbro.
If we are trading a 1st and Hoglander, I would rather do so for a younger player than Giroux who comes with a bit more term.

Raaty is probably worth a lower second early 3rd. That doesn't make up for the Girard difference though.

JEE trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>feels like a lot. van passes</div></div>
JEE is a very good player. I feel the Horvat trade is fairly good comparable, but JEE comes with a long term team friendly deal. Some may argue this is an overpay, if it is it's very slight, but your probably going to have to overpay to have MIN part with him.

If the Canucks are trading a 1st, I feel they should be doing it for a younger player with more term and preferably some cap certainty.

Flyers cutter is a wuss
I think the Canucks consider it. VAN is looking for a top 6 winger and that's about the cost for a 24 year old winger whos on pace for back to back mid 20 goal and high 40 point seasons.

Oh cutter
That's a package I would say Vancouver would be interested in and the price seems fairly accurate. I don't think Vancouver could make the cap work though unless they moved an additional piece(s), and I don't think they would be overly happy about moving Suter. How about pull Suter and Hathaway?

If were going to gut our futures lets do it right
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>I mean eventually they’re going to have to learn to win as a group. Not sure where that begins for them. But I’m not sure I’d start with trading a guy who’s been very good for you for futures setting you back 3+ years when they have the prospect pool they already have.</div></div>
That's fair, and I agree with you, I didn't/don't think Buffalo accepts. The AGM was more of a, "If we (VAN) are going to empty the already bare prospect cupboards, lets get a good fit for a couple years", after seeing posts for mid 30's wingers with higher cap hits and less term.

This year is trending towards being a bust. Lots of time in the offseason to address grit/toughness.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>Tuch is great but idk if I’d give up that much for him</div></div>
I am against trading significant futures this year. That said, I see similar value proposals for mid 30's wingers with 1-2 years left at a higher cap hit, so if the Canucks were going to make a big splash for a winger might as well be one that comes with some certainty and a very good cap hit. Tuch also strikes me as a Tocchet type player: big, fast, physical.

For a team that's possibly just opening their window and one that lacks prospect depth, that's a lot of picks to give up for a couple of UFA's.
