Nate Danielson (2023 Draft) got an invite for the summer showcase for Team Canada's u20 roster. Not a name I heard of, wil likely be an early pick.</div></div>
Not sure what other players would be eligible to join (Bedard’s not there for example, as well as Wright), but making a roster out of the invites:
Othmann-Johnston-LDBB
Roy-Geekie-Savoie
L’Heureux-Fantilli-Bolduc
Schaefer-Ostapchuk-Gaucher
Dean
Firkus snubbed because Canada will need big tough hockey men 😤😤😤 Also Bedard is making this team, LDBB is probably just a filler for him.
Nause/Allan-Clarke
Mateychuk-Ceulemans
Pickering-Korchinski
Allan/Nause-Luneau
I don’t think Allan or Nause are too good, but both are older defensive defensemen, so I think one of them gets put with Clarke (rather than Pickering, who is like, actually good but younger). Mateychuk-Ceulemans is a well-balanced 2nd pair. Pickering probably makes it as the 3LD over one of Allan/Nause, and I like Korchinski on his off-side rather than Kyrou as a 3rd pair offensive guy, although it wouldn’t surprise me if the other of Allan/Nause was there either (Korchinski would probably run PP2 if he makes it, but if he doesn’t then one of Mateychuk/Ceulemans would run PP2, and that might be the reason he’s snubbed if they think one of those two can handle it).
Gaudreau
Brennan
Gaudreau is older, Brennan is bigger. Both ~3rd round level talents. As per usual, Canada probably won’t have the tournament’s best goalie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>So do I have to trust Kevin Weekes as a legitimate insider now lol? I still remember last year when he broke like 2 or 3 things that were obviously false (clearly just being fed info by one side or another to drive up prices, e.g. the Tkachuk+2 1sts+2 prospects for Eichel thing), which real insiders should know is fake until they confirm with someone else. But he did break a lot of trades and seems to be the first guy to get a lotta coaching stuff. Do we think he’s legit now? I’m down to bump Dreger down the insider rankings tbh, never really trusted him since it was made clear he’s a Darren Ferris mouthpiece (even though I was a big fan a decade ago).</div></div>
Dreger is terrible and loves to push other teams agenda's. He speaks nonsense IMO.

(MTL/VGK) - Weber for Dadonov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>Because they weren’t traded for with a 2nd for nothing 3 months ago.
To clarify: this is far more a Vegas win than a Montreal loss. But if he costed a 2nd to dump 3 months ago, he should cost at least a little bit to dump.</div></div>
So your logic makes no sense. It's negative value just because it's Dadonov. Any other player who puts up the exact same stats on that contract is positive, but ONLY Dadonov is negative.
That's your Montreal hate showing I'm afraid.

That’s the literal definition of a player having negative value. There has never been a more concrete case of negative value like Dadonov.</div></div>
So because Ghost was dumped with a 2nd + 3rd you think he has a bad contract? It all comes down to how a certain team values that player.

Like this for Montreal. They trade a "negative asset" and acquiring a 40 PT pending UFA (next season) that they can flip at the TD for a massive return.

Both win here imo. MTL gains an asset they could trade for actual value by retaining salary, and Vegas didn't have to pay anything to move Dadonov.

Lemme help you out with some SHL facts for 1st round picks sent back to SHL
Lucas Raymond- 6 goals
Mika Zibanejad - 13 points
Erik Karlsson- 10 points
The SHL is a very hard league to put up big numbers, especially for a kid. Eklund had low numbers playing 3C for a very bad Djurgarden team this season. Doesn't mean squat.

He's buried in Leksands. They hardly play him and when they do he's in the bottom 6 with bums. That's why BUF rushed the signing to get him in Rochester to keep his development on track.

He was getting about 7 minutes a game. Similar situation with Aatu Raty when he was on Karpat. Hard to produce when you don't get any ice time.
Wasn't even a huge reach either. Pretty much everyone had him ranked in the teens / early 20s. McKenzie had him at 18.
