<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>To the point of someone saying that NYR should use Lundkvist to strengthen the team now.
I agree to an extent, but since Lundkvist is such a prominent prospect I'd want for high level strengthening personally.
Spending Lundkvist - a former first round pick with totals that would justify him being drafted even higher, producing at a record breaking level in SHL as a junior, in exchange to a 3rd line winger and adding a 2nd to it is just WAY overboard.
NYR is stacked with RHDs yes, but Lundkvist is also great prospect material, and plays the prime position of RHD - they should go after a top-6 piece easily.
Someone like Brock Boeser for example.</div></div>
holy smokes I legit thought everyone was talking about Henrik Lundqvist until now because everyone wasn't spelling it Lundkvist lmao
In that case I totally agree, if I were Drury I would be quite hesitant to move such a promising young defenceman

Interesting, I was under the (uneducated) impression that Severson was all offense and no defense. It satisfies and scares me that he's actually solid.

(ANA/BOS) - Lindholm, Curran for Vaakanainen, Moore, 1st, 2nd, 2nd
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Lindholm is 28yrs old and their probably extending him to an 8yr deal. McAvoy, Lindholm, Carlo is a solid top 3 for the next 5yrs. Add in Swayman as their #1 and they're in good shape ok the backend.
Late 1st = about a 65% chance of playing 100 NHL games
2nd rounder = about a 35% chance of playing 100 NHL games
The future isn't in question. McAvoy, Carlo, Swayman, Pastrnak. Possibly Lindholm, Lysell and Lohrei.</div></div>
I hate to say it but McAvoy, Carlo, Pastrnak, and Lindholm are all over 24 years old, which doesn't exactly quality as 'great future assets'. Swayman looks pretty good, but Lysell and Lohrei haven't even yet shown they can succeed at the NHL level. So I have to say I agree with Ritzy

Him being a top D in EDM tells more about Oilers than it does about Nurse himself. His numbers aren't anything too amazing. Certainly not something worth of $9M+</div></div>

erm, I don't think Nurse was at any point the best defenceman in Canada. Thomas Chabot is in my opinion a better all around player than Nurse. Quinn Hughes and Morgan Rielly are arguably better offensively. I agree that he plays a big part in the Oilers defensive core, but I probably disagree that he would be the best dman on 90% of teams in the NHL, much less 75%. I also think he should be paid about a million less, because I think a lot of his offensive prowess can be attributed to his gifted teammates at forward.

New York Rangers signed Brandon Scanlin (2 Years / $925,000 AAV)
Interesting, he was born in Hamilton, played in the AJHL, and then went to Nebraska-Omaha.
Personally I'm astounded by the difference in NHL names that played in the AJHL and BCHL rather than the OJHL. For those that don't know, these are all part of the CJHL, which is Canadian Junior A. I've been to a solid amount of OJHL games and it's good hockey, not quite OHL level but some of the guys could play in the NCAA D-1.

I hope we don't trade Lehkonen. He really is the heart and soul of the team along with Gally, and having those two is a huge morale boost whenever they do their thing. They're absolute warriors. I could see either one of them garnering a 1st round pick at the deadline because frankly that type of player doesn't come around often. Perry is one of them too.
Also we should play a game where we bet how many Norris trophies Moritz Seider is going to win. Holy smokes is he ever a fantastic hockey player. He's inching closer to Hedman every time I see him.
That being said, Makar, Josi, and Fox are on a whole nother offensive level. Please NHL make more defenceman award categories so one player from each group gets a trophy. Jaccob Slavin is a monster too, don't understand how only one of these guys gets an award. Start giving Harts back to defencemen.

The only thing that I would change about this is Jiricek, I did see him a few times before he went off, I do think missing time will hurt his stock
