Incredible overpayment on COL's part to get Pacioretty and Byron. Wow dude, are you for real or that was all a big joke?
Please take some time to reevaluate your hockey knowledge...it's for your own sake.</div></div>
If it was for EK only it’s an overpayment bcz this pick is gonna be a TOP3. How is it an overpayment when you have 6M$ ian cole and Matt Calvert bad contract ( i think they will be)
I did the same trade last week but without Stone removing the AVS pick and ading Jost and people commented overpayment.
And Please stop thinking that you’re the **** when it comes to Hockey. You never been involved in the NHL neither do I.

My mistake on that one but I didn’t know that what a site for jobs. Maybe that’s why you’re still jobless and wasting your time criticizing people. This roster is the not final some trade will happen and I didn’t want to bother looking for trade anymore that’s why i stopped at 2 trades and didn’t bother continue.

PIT trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>I wouldn't go that far, I think it makes sense to send Patches to Pittsburgh but I doubt you'll get that haul. Brassard and Patches have comparable value, (Brassard being a centre increases his value) so if you built a deal around him, you'd maybe get Brassard and a 2nd for patches or something like that. Possibly even more. I imagine though that Pittsburgh keeps Brassard, he's the best 3rd line centre in hockey currently. (Until TO signs Tavares, then Kadri will be the best 3rd line centre in hockey. :) )</div></div>
Why have the best 3rd line center and bad LW. Pacioretty has the talent to become a Phil Kessel 2.0 for the Penguins so i think the trade is fair.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>burla13</b></div><div>I like this but it means that essentially you are letting Seguin go, so if Dallas makes that choice next year this could certainly happen.
I think that is a solid trade btw if you are Ottawa how do you say no.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bigguycom</b></div><div>Solid trades and signing. Just wondering what the long-term outlook is for signing Karlsson and Seguin?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cbailey56</b></div><div>Impossible. They still have to re-sign Seguin, plus Nichushkin isn't even on here and will make roughly 3M for the next 2-years.</div></div>
These are the solutions:
Seguin will take 5.75M$+ Anti Niemi buyout 1.5M$+Jason Spezza Retained salary 3.75M$=11M$ 8 years
Karlsson will take 6.5M$+Kari Lehtonen 1M$(keeping 0.5M$ for the backup goalie)+ Salary Cap increase (lets say 2M$)=9.5M$ 8 years.
Dallas finds a way to trade Stephen John,Mattias Janmark and Radek Faska next year on Trade deadline or next summer for something cheaper or draft picks and we are good to go.
Marc Methot will go on free agent (4.9M$ free cap space to add to Esa Lindell and for others).
Yh Forgot about Nichushkin. (Maybe trade Devin Shore for picks).

Habs and prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>CAR has a new owner , no GM and going through re-structuring so the odds of them giving up a pick are slim to none .
typically in these situations just like when Molson bought the habs back typically former GM's prospects are bundled for an established player they think can help like the Gomez trade in MTL.
(although the Gomez trade was a clear win for NYR MTL got what they asked for in Gomez and despite his short lived tenure he took us to the ECF as top Center love him or hate him and it was our weak D that cost us that series with PHI Gomez showed up . plus Subban upon Gomez retiring credited him as a mentor )
my point is that it would be far more likely you see Rask ,Fleury ,Skinner ,Nordstrom and Faulk be moved out for picks and established talent .
something like Pacioretty , 2020 1st rounder (not protected) and Lindgren for Rask and Fleury
this would give CAR a star now , an additional 1st round pick and a top goalie prospect who is waiver exempt and on contract .
this would give MTL a 2nd line Center for bulk Faceoffs and a potential 2nd pair LD that currently plays as a call up / bottom pair D as he's just 21 .(we have his brother a RD playmaker coming up so it would be good for Laval while they develop and hopefully pay off in MTL later)
as far as retaining cap thats pointless most years CAR has to pick up a contract just to make the minimum cap requirement even now they just barely hit it so retaining is actually something that would hurt this deal because it just forces them to add another contract later.</div></div>
Good point but i heard that the new owner is a Melynuk 2.0.that ia why i decided to retain Pacioretty contract.Noah Hannifin is RFA this off season and Fleury next year.So i don't think Carolina will have any more problems getting above the minimum cap

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainFlynnt</b></div><div>Fair enough, I'm not a big hudon fan, small and slow he often cheats to try create offense. McCarron is struggling but he has played better hockey before, going into next year I'd like to have him in case De la rose struggles.. they can both share 4th line C duties. Hudon also has more value around the league I'm sure.
Juulsen is good enough to play with habs for sure.. but I think he would benefit from 1st pairing minutes in the AHL, and lots of power play and penalty kill time. He could develop his offensive game more.
Also if you start Juulsen next season and one of Petry, Weber, or Juulsen get injured, who replaces them? This way if one of Weber, Petry, or Franson get injured, Juulsen can be called up. Having bad depth can derail a season so I think this is the better way to go. Like I said, if Juulsen outplays Franson in training camp then he can stay and Franson might clear waivers too, but I don't see Juulsen being significantly better.</div></div>
I am all in to giving more chances to young players but if i had to choose between Hudon and McCarron..... i would suggest doing the same with McCaron as you suggested with Juulsen. If Montreal is all in to tanking for the next years to come than Mccaron and Juulsen should be called up and play all season. But with Claude Julien i don’t see that happening any time soon. I would also look into Rychel

I would rather keep hudon than see another minute of McCarron with the habs. And Noah Juulsen should play with the habs not with laval
