Vancouver Canucks signed Elias Pettersson (3 Years / $918,333 AAV)
What a steal for the Canucks. They just got a 100 point player for 3 years at nearly league min. One of the best deals in the league for sure
In all seriousness, RIP Canucks commentators.

If you're being put on a pedestal based on a high % of whatever expected stat, but your real stats don't back that up, are you really producing?
Just one man's opinion, I'm sure there is still plenty of debate amongst the advanced stat community versus the old eye test way of analyzing.</div></div>
Your not wrong at all, I’m just tired of TBL bottom 6 guys always winning the battle against TOR. I’ve said many times I’ll take TOR top 6 against anyone, it’s the bottom guys who get out performed.
I’m very thankful to have Knies and O’Reilly down there, hopefully they can turn the tide

Next year with depth
I know your last (4) TML posts all have CHI taking on Murray, but you're really not looking at it from CHI's perspective. Last year this time they have ZERO starting goalies. Mrazek actually helped filled a need. Sure Soderblom was a rookie and Stauber had yet to play a game, but they've both proven that more NHL ice time is warranted. Also Commesso ( likely the Hawks best goalies prospect since Crow) needs ice time somewhere too. That's the reason the Hawks should (rightfully) ask for more. Murray might actually HURT development of their prospects so he'll likely ride the bench until Mrazek gets hurt.
Since the BOS 1st will be worse than the 1st sent with Mrazek and the Hawks don't really want Murray...I'd say the one of the 3rds is more appropriate than any 2nd.

Like the fact is guys can crosscheck him now and nothing will be done
And the league said they were gonna start enforcing. Messier said it best Officiating has been **** and if they start targeting one guy Bettman gonna get railed (Probs will happen anyways as it seems this year in many series officials are making a legit case for being blind the mayfield high stick says it all)</div></div>
If he did try to tone it down and they still called it, it was likely far too late - once you establish that kind of reputation it's not easy to shake it. Fair or not, out to get him or not, bad on the league or not - this is what is happening, the Leafs cannot change that. What they can do, is alter if/how they deploy Bunting so that they aren't being bagged down by all these calls against Bunting. It is what it is.

No, no worries at all. I'm cheering hard for TOR. It helps the Hawks get that #20 pick vs #28-#32. Dubas had the best TDL out of any team IMO...he's truly made solid moves. I'm really excited for Leafs fans.

Kochetkov should be in NHL, but when everyone is healthy, he is stuck in AHL.
Is Woll really stuck in minors due to lack of opportunity (aren’t they using ATOs)? Maybe stuck due to cap issues, but that would be different category.

JETS 2324
-PLD gets more than this at the TDL next year, IMO. I'd also say that, from the Jets side, you don't *have* to trade him to Montreal. If he's going to the Habs next summer, so be it; but if you're moving him in his walk year you can send him to anyone that offers up the best package - and then his free agent problems will be their problem, not yours.
-I see the fit, but I think this is a huge price to pay for Scheifele. Gunler is developing nicely, and barring a miracle turnaround I'm going to guess that Philly's 2024 2nd is going to be in the late 30s. Carolina has a lot of holes to fill this summer, and I don't know if they put all their trade eggs in one basket like this.
-Easy pass from NYI. They're more or less set at LHD with Pelech-Romanov-Bolduc next year, with a handful of NHL-caliber guys ready to go behind them. If they do trade for a D, it would be for a more offensive-minded one, anyway.
-I don't see Toronto giving up one of their better prospects left just to unload Murray's deal (I also would be surprised if the Jets weren't on Murray's NTC.) I'd also argue that Matt Murray with one year left on his contract should cost less to "dump" than Matt Murray with 2 years on his contract did last summer - so the idea that Minten, a guy that was picked #38OA last year and definitely showed development this year, would be coming with him is a big ask that easily gets turned down by the Leafs.

Direction next season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ritzy</b></div><div>100%.
TOR has already invested time and resources into making this kid work. Even if they are able to sell him off, at best they'll get the 2nd round pick back used to draft him. Which is still a loss considering what was spent on him up until this point. Not great asset management.
I would imagine teams would be hesitant to take the gamble on him considering his injuries thus far. And it would for sure be Toronto luck that he gets traded away to all of a sudden stay healthy and become the player they hoped he would be when drafted.</div></div>

It's why I'm so hesitant to trade prospects that are "busts" or "injury proned".
The odds of the return resulting in a better outcome for the team is slim.

I'm most assuredly not "one of those". I was hoping that he ended up on the Ducks. That being said, it's a serious question-Regardless of whether "They've liked him for a long time" or not, they basically got him for free, so it's not like they *HAVE* to qualify a guy that has mediocre at best for them, which follows along with how he played in Edmonton.

Maybe if he would take a one year deal. I wouldn't want to sign him for that term. He's a better winger but can fill in at center if need be.
