Stop worrying about what other fanbases think. Over and over again we were made fun of "Chiarot will never get a 1st", "Lehkonen would be lucky to get a 3rd", "Kulak for a 5th", "Habs overrate their players more than anyone!".
Chiarot for 1st, Similanic (previous 3rd), 4th
Lehkonen for Barron (previous 1st), 2nd
Kulak for 2nd, Lagesson (throw in)
Habs fans can stop listening to the posters on here, we <strong>underrated </strong> Chiarot, Lehkonen and Kulak for what we thought they would get.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BadaBing</b></div><div>remove the 1st and replace it with a 4th. That would make more sense</div></div>
No.
Scandella is a cap dump and has 2 more years at that term.
Armia has value, and would fit right into Blues style and at $1.7M
Chiarot is worth a 1st +... Surely Armia and Scandella being involved bridge the gap for Neighbours and a 1st at the very least.

any first for Lehkonen would also be a late first. Lehkonen is RFA so they get his rights. He is arguably better than Coleman, definitely better than Goodrow, especially at that age.

Coleman and Goodrow both brought in 1st round picks.
But yeah, we'll see. I think as a package, we get less than selling them separately.

Yes, because we are shopping Petry. And we are rebuilding, so buying Barrie is nonsensical.

Chariot = ?
Lehkonen = ?
Allen = ?
Also, let's assume no retention, the Rangers don't need it.</div></div>
Rumoured returns:
Chiarot = 1st, 3rd
Lehkonen = 1st, B prospect
Allen = havent seen a rumour yet. I wouldnt trade him for any less than a 2nd + B Prospect
Kravtsov and Lundqvist are 1st round picks, from 4 drafts ago. Lundqvist value is same or maybe slightly higher than a late first, Kravstov's value is lower + Russia situation right now.
Nemeth adds no value to Montreal
So arguably, the deal is missing value equivalent to 3rd, 2 B prospects

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Scott Wheeler at the Athletic has Abramov ranked at #8 and Holmberg as #14 in the TML pipeline, in a group or 10 or so prospects that he describes this way: "The third wide group is full of B grade players where if you can turn a strong minority into NHL players that’s a success. "
Abramov & Holmberg aren't slam dunk prospects, but I think giving them both up & a 2nd rounder for 25 games of Max Domi is a big price to pay. Domi's got one 72 point season 3 years ago and a bunch of years where he's played at a 40-50 point pace. I honestly think if you're giving up that package you can get a more impactful player.</div></div>
So #8 and #14 in a weak prospect pipeline? Yeah, I would trade that and a 2nd for Max Domi. Every single day.

Allen is an upgrade and cheaper than Mrazek, Abruzzese worth the difference?
Holl has been bad this year, and a healthy scratch at times. he is $2M this year, and next year. I don't think Montreal wants him, and they aren't paying a 5th to help the Leafs with this Cap dump.
Chiarot and Allen are definitely a fit for Toronto, but I dont think Leaf fans will like the cost, especially if Habs are eating future cap.

A New Defense for Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>well for one, you can look up the numbers he uses yourself. they are publicly available and they all paint Risto as trash. You can also look up what these stats are and what they measure yourself too.
as far as the rest of the questions, you re just trying really really hard to dismiss something you clearly havent put an ounce of personal research into just because you dont wanna and it makes players you like look bad.
I am not going to do your homework for you, if you want a crash course in analytics that's on you.
At the end of the day, literally every person who understands analytics and looks at his numbers agrees that Risto (and chariot and other big slow bad defenders etc) are not good at defence because they do not limit shots, chances or goals against, they dont clear the puck out of the zone, they dont intercept high danger plays etc etc etc.
And the eye test backs all this up if you watch for anything that isnt a hit or a crosscheck</div></div>
I guess Montreal didn't just school Leafs in the playoffs with Chiarot and Weber top pairing shutting down Matthews and Marner...

Habs keep Savard. No need for a crappy goalie on a terrible contract. Savard at very worse is a mentor to Montreal's up and coming defensemen.

If he's worth a first he should be a 6M AAV player next season but I'm not sure he'll even make what he is right now.</div></div>
That's ridiculous. Part of his value is the low cap hit he holds. I don't think and Toronto Maple Leafs fan is allowed to be high and mighty when arguing defencemen. Your 2nd pairing and 3rd pairing are in utter chaos right now, and your top pairing are extremely weak on the puck. But good luck in the playoffs when all anyone sees is TJ Miller rumours, how good is he at 2RD? Lol
