Chevy is smart enough to not take it that far, id have faith in a signing or equal value trade if I were you. Still think the league in general needs to do something about the college FA situation, what it is, no idea but it shouldn't be that much risk in those drafted players

Rutger on Draft Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rooney</b></div><div>"That Jets management can't get signed"
People really don't do any research lol. We have zero roster turnover next year, McGroarty was sked if he would like to play in the AHL or go back for his Junior year, he went back which makes sense.
He'll be on the Jets roster in 25/26, there will be no issues getting him signed.</div></div>
Great, doesn't change that it's an overpayment.
I agree the Jets won't have trouble signing him but walking him this close to being a FA will always carry a risk and if the managements plan doesn't align with the players, that will cause a problem. Look at cutter and Philly, don't think that will happen here but it is the risk that Jets management is taking

I think this (23-24) is Ehlers last season in Winnipeg, he'll get traded in the summer but for what I have no idea, it sucks but I just don't think Bones likes him or that he's overly happy with his role.
I think Schmidt will get bought out and maybe Iafallo will get moved too.
I'm really surprised DeMelo hasn't been extended already, thought there was gonna be an announcement in February, wonder whats going on with that situation.
I figure Monahan gets an extension, maybe Toffoli too but could more likely see him walking to free agency, Lambert graduates to 2RW, Perfetti gets a bridge deal.

A lot depends on ehlers and then Connor trades or extensions going forward. I wonder if there is a predraft trade of some sort that brings a 1st possibly with a rhd dman that is in the mix and has some team control, possibly a center prospect with something similar to compete for 2c, obviously depending on monahan also. Looking like a blockbuster a brewing, don’t mind Stanley and heinola as 6/7, but could use a rhd dman to join the fray.

This is basically exactly what I believe the team will look next year. Love the dreiger and comrie signings for the battle for the backup spot as well as hakanpää. Will be more interesting to see what the 2025-2026 roster will look like.

I would like to see hutson 1 year in the AHL pairing with Reinbacher
I want to see Xhekaj and Mailloux on a third pair
Both are big guy and play well with the rocket this year
That top 6 look good but the bottom 6 make me cry
Kent hughes need to work on this in the summer
I think a team like the pens could be interest by a Dvorak at 2.25 m
If Anderson not lookin good at the next camp they should put him on waiver and send him to laval like they did with armia

I seriously doubt he is, he’s a top 4 dman on a cheap contract right now. He’d be way to hard to replace right now

Even non Jet fans liked the trade. Makes you wonder would GM Blake was thinking. Lots of fodder for on line hockey sites.
I'm happy for Jets and their fans that they are doing well this season.

Buffalo

I made this as a NSH fan, so take this with a grain of salt.
They have Clifton signed long-term, and they have one of Dahlin/Power/Byram to play RD on another pair. I think BUF could use a better defensive RHD for the 2nd pair, so insert Demelo. And then trade Jokiharju for a versatile forward that has playoff/cup experience for a young team. Getting rid of Jokiharju allows them to improve two positions at once. Jokiharju hasn’t excelled either offensively or defensively imo— kinda the mushy middle. Still has potential to be that number 4 guy though. He seems expendable given his contract status as well.

Make the 2nd a 1st and Sens definitely think about it. May have to add another pick or player though. I don’t know, I’m sure Sens fans will say “absolutely not” “that’s not enough” etc etc…it’s not that far off.

Sens should take that honestly.... Appleton is a solid bottom 6er. Perfetti can grow into a good top 6er and Rutger would be a solid top liner when he develops. Plus a pick upgrade.

Playoff Lines
These are the dates when Michigan's season could end:
March 29 - Round 1
March 31 - Round 2
April 11 - Frozen Four
April 13 - Championship
I could see the Jets burning the 1st year of McGroarty's ELC and then assigning him to the Moose for a playoff run should they hang on to the final playoff spot in their division. If the Moose slip out of the playoff spot, then I could see him travel with the Jets (but not necessarily playing).
Edit: spelling (fingers are too fat)

Agree if this is the case.
EDIT: If Rutger makes the NHL put him take out Barron, put Appleton on the 4th and Rutger on the 3rd.

Wanted Top 6 Winger
So you're trading away two young forwards and a first-round draft pick to acquire an expensive (although highly productive) short-term veteran forward who will push Skinner and Tuch down to the third line, trading away two RhDs only to trade draft picks to get one RhD back, and all this to acquire a #3C and #4C? Seems like a lot of churning to me, especially in light of the fact that I agree with <a href="/users/Rooney" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Rooney</a> that neither Jet is likely to be available.
I think that there is a reason why Kevyn Adams felt himself free to trade Casey Mittelstadt. It will be interesting to see what his plan is.

Realistic Nashville Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rooney</b></div><div>I'll be honest...I kind of forgot McDonagh was still in the league lol.</div></div>
He's having a great season. He's miles better than Gudbranson. Not sure why NSH is adding a better pick there. I'm sure McDonagh declines that trade anyway. TB originally gave him the choice of NSH or CBJ, and he waived his NTC for NSH.
That BUF trade isn't realistic. Neither is Carrier signing for just $1M.

I wouldn't do a 1-for-1 swap. Broberg has demonstrated a higher offensive ceiling while also being a big body that can really skate (a valuable combo for a young D). Soderstrom's only real edge over Broberg is the fact that he's a RD but I'm not convinced that balances things out enough to make it a 1-for-1. If we're talking strict value assessment, the 2nd is likely too much but I don't envision there's any version of this trade that EDM makes.
