As much as I love him, I’m with you. Trade him, add some assets…younger prospects/picks

Flyers turn Necas into a center
If TK had term, yes, there's a deal here somewhere. But he's a rental. He'd need to come with a reasonable extension. Either that, or start somewhere else. Also, if Rod hates him as a center, Torts may kill him

Yeah it is somewhat overpay. Your 1st + one of those other pieces would make Flyers to think about it, and two of those pieces would make them pull the trigger.

Briere blows it up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roperttos</b></div><div>ABD was also 24 at the time and already had two 40 goal seasons under his belt and was a RFA, so part of his value was because there was room for improvement and the controllability with his contract. Konecny will be a UFA in 1 year and has reached his prime which will lower his value in this case compared to ABD. That trade has also pretty much set the market price for wingers. I doubt a team is willing to even give up 3 good pieces now that Konecny has only 1 year left and has reached his prime. Maybe a team is willing to give a pretty high pick for Konecny but I wouldn't expect them to give too much more on top of that depending on the pick. One of the big value drivers last summer was TK's cheap contract that a team could get for 2 years and now there's only 1 year left on it.</div></div>
ADB also forced a trade which didn’t help with value. And I disagree that TK has reached his prime I think he would be hitting 80+ easily on a team like Toronto or someone with a real top line. But we can agree to disagree and I appreciate ur insight

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roperttos</b></div><div>I don't see them trading their this years 1st and Kulich. To me that seems like a reasonable return for unretained TK. He could get more, but I wouldn't be upset over that return since I'm kinda high on Kulich and he fits what they need. Add retention to that and you could raise the price more.</div></div>
Except :
1- Sabres unlikely to move Kulich
2- we don’t “need” retention
3- we probably aren’t even looking to bring in a player like Konecny (someone who’ll need a big contract)

for a team that is supposed to be rebuilding, that would be realy dumb, the only reason PHI even sniffed the playoffs was because the NJD craped the bed, WSH and PIT are on the downward trend and NYI sucked for parts of the season. Phily C is proly the worst in the division and the D aint that much better and the G is ooof.

Anderson is a borderline AHL player getting paid 5.5M for what like 4-5 more years? That’s worth a lot more than a 3rd to dump. I beg all of you to stop trading Anderson to the flyers, nobody cares how he played under Torts it isn’t going to happen and you will have to pay a lot more than your scraps to get it done if it did

you can keep the merzlikins contract, flyers have little interest in adding another goalie (ersson, fedotov, kolosox, petersen all under contract for next year), don't need a 2.7 million dollar 4th string
if you want atkinson tho, just ask nicely he will cost literally nothing

NHL Draft Trading Up

I wanted Slaf for months when he was projected to go 5-7 and then a month before all of the sudden he was the top pick and then I shifted to Jiricek. I said the same thing when they drafted Cutter that it was a mistake not to go Jiricek. Two totally different reasons between why and what happened but same outcome

Levshunov would fit that description but he is going in the top 5 likely. Yakemchuk is another D who comes to mind and would be more likely available for them, but does he have the potential to be a 1RD?</div></div>
Well that’s what I’m saying tho. If we are trading up for anything I’m trading into the top 5 and taking a top Center or top RHD.

I still dont understand this team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gpmack95</b></div><div>That addresses both your needs?</div></div>
at the expense of our biggest weakness, flyers need centers, and won't be trading them unless it is for a significant upgrade or to get out from the couturier contract. especially a center like frost, he is the only player on the team who can create anything from nothing. poehling just signed an extension, he's not getting moved
goaltending (shockingly) isn't a need. ersson has simply been burnt through the ground. when he gets 40+ hours rest, he has a .910, anything else he's a .885 (stats were from a few days ago so have changed, but reasoning still holds true). with a legit backup/1B (which fedotov/kolosov will be), this won't be an issue
graves is alright, but again, not a significant need given that LHD for next year are york, sanheim, seeler, zamula, andrae, and ginning. next to no need to add a middle pair dman who's signed for 5 more years given that they won't need him in 2 years time

That Flyers trade makes ZERO sense for a rebuilding team. Young two-way player and a first for a soon to be 29 year old Jarry and a 4th? Flyers have a ton of legit goalie prospects and Ersson/Fetotov currently on the roster,

Doesn’t make sense for the flyers to deplete their current roster to get Tkachuk . And doesn’t make sense for the Sens to trade Tkachuk for a win now package
