Danault won't sign for that money. He is walking away to FA to see his worth and I definitely see someone willing to pay at least 5x5

Just an Idea

Oh ok yes I understand now. Thanks for clarifying. Then in that case, if the league approves, Weber can remain on LTIR and we can sign another high-impact player (Savard, Hoffman, etc.) or they can explore trading for both Killorn and Gourde while not trading for Johansen and keeping some picks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Trading Weber makes no sense, if we keep him and put him on LTIR ourselves it opens up almost 8 mil in cap space for Montreal to add a player or two. Why not use that as opposed to trading him?</div></div>
It adds up being the same no?

Dougie Boii
Just my thoughts:
1. Overall this team is much better than last year's
2. I doubt KK will take anything more than 2 years
3. I would rather see Poehling make the team rather than having Hoffman unless Drouin is 100% ruled out for next year
4. That's too long of a contract for Savard. I am scared he can become the next Alzner
5. Lehkonen will ask for more $ but I hope you are right
6. Allen will most likely be dealt

Tinquering the line-up
Poehling is now a winger and this lineup is terrible on draws. Instead of signing Turnover Tatar, sign Danault for a little more money and add Poehling to the wing. Also, why not signing Lehkonen? Armia is overvalued here in my opinion.

I like your lines - not a fan of Staal at all. I think you meant to put Toffoli on PP1 instead ok keeping Tomas "turnover" Tatar on both units.

But when EP comes back Miller will play the wing. Also, I thought Beagle was hardly playing when the team is healthy. Regardless, VAN could do better with him off the books and look for UFAs to improve their team

Bad trade. The habs have a deep propsect pool of LD, a top-4 RD in Petry and our future starter in Primeau.

Realistic Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>But why do that Byron trade? The difference between Allen and Primeau isn’t large, and Byron’s a better player than Glendening. By letting Seattle take Allen and not signing Glendening, you’re saving money while not making the team worse, and also not giving away Struble and a 2nd for no reason at all.
Also, there’s no chance LeGuerrier ends up with an ELC with the habs.</div></div>
Good questions. First, Byron has a hefty contract so I think it's best to manoeuver without it hence the trade. Second, management already said that Primeau needs more time in the AHL to develop so I believe they won't push him to be the backup just yet. Third, you are right that Glendening < Byron but he is there to help with faceoffs as Evans is not there yet while we struggled as a team mightily in the faceoff dot. Fourth, LeGuerrier may not get one, I just thought perhaps he would given that Struble is now out of the equation. Also, I do not see Ikonen getting an ELC either. What are your thoughts?

I don't think Dunn is worth that. STL can lose him to the expansion draft as well.

If you want Eichel, you need to include at least two of Primeau, Suzuki, Romanov, Caufield and KK. Also, VAN would never trade their future starter for Price and spare parts.

Exactly I agree. Besides, why would the habs want Roussel - an overpaid bottom-6 player? Habs need offence not another bottom-6 guy.

We are giving up too much for McDonagh. Does not make sense why we need an aging LD at a high cap with 6 more years. Also, why bring in Hoffman? Last thing the habs need is off-ice drama.

Maksimov is to my accounts a B-prospect RW not a D. Tatar has more value than I thought he had plus Oilers is in need of a top-6 winger. The first is balanced with the early second and third.

What I would do - 1st Edition
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habs_Hfx10</b></div><div>Very interesting points made, I am also on board to capitalize on Tatar and help address our D. I think that our left side is starting to take shape and now our right side has some question marks so I’d rather move him for a RHD like Timmins or someone similar.
I like the idea of moving some picks and some prospects who likely won’t be signed due to our contract limit and moving up into late first round could produce some solid talent down the road. Personally we’re headed in the right direction just need to have some patience, and not make any desperate moves in an attempt to speed things up.</div></div>
They could also use a combination of 2 of their 1 round picks to move up to get Drysdale. Drysdale could potentially replace Petry (if he is ready) after his contract is done.
