Fair enough, Beau is actually a very good forechecking/defensive forward. He’s just not a big forward, which I think leads some people to think he’s just purely offensive.

Garland makes more sense as a two way middle 6 winger with good defensive impacts and he could thrive in the Sabres transition/rush focused offense</div></div>
I think the Canucks would be willing to move any of Boeser, Garland or Beauvillier in a deal like this. So if it was Garland, you’d take that?

Ya that makes some sense, the only issue is that in that deal the caps end up with the better player and the better prospect. Don’t think it would happen

Would it change if they threw in Beauvillier to the trade?

Gut job Trying not to be a homer
As a Canucks fan, I think these make a lot of sense. I think with 10 million in cap space we could help a few teams at the tdl by taking some expiring contracts and add a few more picks/prospects like that.

Shake Up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>herzausstein</b></div><div>Have you ever seen a deal that appears too good to be true so it immediately makes you think "ok... whats wrong with it?" Thats this deal. Johansen in a good season is a 60 point center and is slightly overpaid. Miller is about a point per game for 4 seasons so on the surface this season like a downgrade for the canucks at the cost of only a mid round pick for nashville.
I dont watch the canucks so this makes me think theres something pretty off-putting about millers play</div></div>
You’re a smart one, spot on! I think the intensity Johansen plays with (while not as skilled as Miller) is the exact issue the Canucks have had with Miller on the ice. Phenomenal hockey player but I think he needs a more structured/veteran environment.

Between taking on JVR 7 mil that apparently theyre trying to offload and also the fact everyone’s said Miller will get a slightly better return than Fiala makes this fairly close I think

Going into next season with Necas and KK as your middle six C’s is a big downgrade. I don’t think you can matchup against a lot of the east in the playoffs with that
