Davidson blows it up
Canes fans let’s not be ridiculous here. This deal adds a 90 point scorer to our top 6 and costs us 1.2 mil in cap space, an exciting prospect but one with holes in his game, and (hopefully) a late first rounder. Instantly improves our PP as well. Plus then we can trade necas for a second to replenish our picks some. We’re not getting Debrincat without giving up Jarvis. This move improves the team significantly next year. Canes should jump all over this if offered

Pasta Canes 22-23
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Considering that he gets something very similar to the Eichel package, with probably a bit extra, Jarvis doesn’t need to be involved in the package. The situations between Eichel and Pasta are quite similar with a couple of differences. The difference in term and the difference in injury status pretty much cancel each other out. Pasta might be in a more favorable circumstance in terms of team opinion, but it really depends on how he gets treated by Sweeney after watching how Sweeney treat both Krug and Krejci, and now Cassidy and potentially Bergeron. Plus, Boston is going into a rebuild at some point in the next 2 years depending on how they approach this season. Where Pasta is in his career right now, I doubt that he would be willing to stick around for a rebuild, and I doubt Sweeney would want to give him a bit of extra money to make it worthwhile for Pasta to stay through the rebuild, particularly after looking at how Krug and Krejci were treated.

This is my take on getting Pasta to Carolina, and it seems like it has been received pretty well. I wouldn’t count on Pasta getting that much more than what Eichel got.</div></div>
That’s very fair, but in my opinion Eichel had way less value because he wouldn’t play for the sabres unless they let him get that surgery, and you’re trying to move a $10 million salary in-season when most teams that are competing are either up against the cap or only have a few million left. We’ll see though, I definitely would open discussions with necas as the centerpiece but I think Sweeney would want Jarvy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>If that’s the price for Pasta, Canes are better off not doing that. Swap Jarvis for Necas, and swap Morrow for Honka, and you at least have something that can be accomplished.</div></div>
I agree with you and absolutely love Jarvis. But I can’t imagine the bruins say yes to a trade package that doesn’t involve one of him, aho, svech, or slavin. A package headlined by necas and a late first round pick for one of the best scorers in the league gets you hung up on immediately. I don’t think I would actually do that trade, but I built the roster based on them acquiring pasta, and that’s probably what the package would have to look like.

Really don’t see the canes making that deal. Doesn’t make a ton of sense to pick up another D prospect, bottom 6 F, move up a round for a guy of necas’ caliber, even if he doesn’t really fit in Carolina moving forward
