I think it does have to be an overpayment because there is no reason the Kings have to move Roy. But at least your offer and the one above are in the ballpark, it definitely reflects his worth. Still not sure they are compelled to move him, but if it was for a first, I think Blake would do it, maybe midseason if Mikheyev keeps trending the right direction.

as a leafs fan, i don’t want to give up any of those assets for Manson.
i’d maybe do SDA and a 2nd. buts that’s about it.

it is because of the conditions that came with the Kyle Clifford trade.
if the Leafs resign him the third they traded becomes a second.

Gurianov

Mikheyev
Kovalchuk all not even here
And the defense is really not a worry besides zaitsev

Garbage begets Garbage. You can't selectively pick one ACGM with a terrible trade and set the value of the players at what was posted in said ACGM. But based on the description I would guess you already knew this.

How about an AHC section, Armchair Head Coach. If there are no trades or signings, therefore no actual GM moves, it goes to an Armchair Head Coach page. Mostly for lineups during the season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Russell_C</b></div><div>Rodrigues QO is 2M, only reason i signed him to that. Do you have any alternatives for 3C & 4C? I have no use for Rodrigues...but obviously Dubas wants to keep him, why else ask for him to be included in the trade? Players can resign at a cheaper cost than the Q.O. only if the offer is finalized before the NHL Draft, the Monday after the Draft is when Q.O.'s must be giving. So if Dubas doesn't talk Evan to take a paycut before the Draft he'll have to trade him for a pick or get stuck paying him 2 million or reject the Q.O. amount and allow Evan to become an UFA.
I believe Kerfoot stays as 3C.

In regards to the Ducks trade, the Kesler contract is over 80% insured and the Samueli’s can easily afford to pay the difference. It’s not worth getting rid of a 2nd.

I didn't put a ton of work with it but with the 2 1sts you have a ton of good assets to make a move. For Toffoli, it could be Hoffman or Dadonov as well. Looking it over, I wouldn't mind a bit more help on the forward side of PKs.

Looks pretty good to me. I think Mikheyev gets more than that on a 2 year deal (I have been wrong many times before on such things).
Also, you signed Clifford, so trade Leafs 2nd round 2021 pick to LA for Leafs 3rd round 2021 pick (that's the condition if he signs)

yeah, its good value just depends on if Oilers think he can play winger i guess

Not over confident. Just realistic. As I said earlier this trade wrecks the leafs depth... so no they are not spare parts.
I also pretty plainly said that I completely understand panthers not wanting to move ekblad. But you seem to be pretty hung up on demeaning leafs players so have at it I guess.
Ownership has asked them to cut money. Personally I think they do it in other places rather than top tier guys.
Stralman would appear to be a better target. His contract is not very good. Leafs may be able to use financial motivation to make a trade that works for both parties.

Same But different
I don't see them re-signing Clifford because of the pick swap. There are other guys on the market you can get for less money who do the same thing. I do think they go after Jumbo and try to make a Thornton/Engvall/Spezza 4th line though. With the size and skill on that line I'd like to see a team try to break that cycle. Plus Thornton would be about as valuable as Spezza in the room.
I also think they try the FA market before a deal on a RHD, but I don't think it will be Brodie as he shoots left. Hamonic/Bogosian, someone who can play defense and is relatively cheap is more likely. They have righties on the way (talking more about Holloway than Liljegrin here) so they do not need a long term fix. Just someone to buy them 3 years. It wouldn't surprise me to see them bring back Ceci on a 2 mil/year deal even though the media can't stop trying to lynch the guy.
