Crouse, from what I seen from the TDL everyone is overpaying for players, like TBL with Hagel, and BOS with Lindholm, and the contract makes sense 4x5.

Just because everyone else is overpaying doesnt mean you have to, or at least Dubas hasnt been willing to do that. Especially with prospects

Muzzin is still a good player, I dont think it is fair to judge him based on this season. He would still have more value than Luke Schenn even at his term of 2 seasons

I hope the leafs don't offer him 8 years. 8 Year deals are risky, even for all star players because a sudden injury or change of line mates can make a really big difference. I've been happily surprised by how effective Bunting has been with M&amp;M but there's no guarantee he'll produce in the later years. Best scenario I could see is maybe $4mx5 years, but that would be him leaving money on the table (assuming he keeps up with this point pace of course). Bunting would have to choose to stay because he wants to play with the talent and Dubas gives him 5 years for some security. Even then I think there would be considerable risk on the Leafs side. Although I'd be happy if he continues to grow into marchand level skill and I completely eat my words.
