Pettersson if he wants out of Vancouver (only way hes available) is worth 4 1st rounders (his offersheet). This package blow that out of the water

But Huberdeau makes more and it's longer term, while he is 100% better than Gallagher I'd rather Montreal keep Gally instead of trading him for a massive contract like Huberdeau. I think Huberdeau needs a change but that contract isn't tradeable right now unless similar money goes back the other way. The extra 4 years of cap space that keeping Gally gives Montreal is worth more to Montreal than Huberdeau's contract.

Lol, '' nobody wanted him '', maybe because his contract was little bit under 6,3M (who a team like MTL haved the cap space, but not somes other teams) and he haved a hip injury who everything right now is fixed...............................................................
Stop trying to find somes arguments without knowing the context.
You can not like Monahan, but that's 1000% a realistic value.

nobody wanted him because he had a bad hip, that's fixed now and while he's not back to being point per game he's still a very good player who makes less than $2,000,000

I wish Toronto fans would stop doing trades with MTL.
They are the ones with needs but always take the opportunity to bash on our players value.

I call it the Schrödinger players: How you wish Anderson and Xhekaj were the solution for your team's vanilla performances, but at the same time they must have no value because they come from MTL.
Pleeease explain to me (again) how you are making us a favor to take them off our hands....

I get it to a point but I think you're worse off throwing guys who have already had significant NHL time back down to the AHL just to avoid losing. The only thing I think makes sense is whoever out of Guhle/Xhekaj/Barron doesn't make the top 6 out of camp should be sent down to Laval to get top pair minutes there, instead of being the 7th D in the NHL (that's what guys like Chris Wideman are here for.)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SCGLisme2</b></div><div>Better yet they lose PLD for nothing next season but I do agree there is no trading going on between these two teams!
None of these trades are happening.</div></div>
Ok First off, after THIS season PLD, is a RFA....He also stated to the Jets Management that he would not sign a long term extension as he intends to test free agency as a UFA. HOWEVER, in order for him to do that he will need to sign a 1 year deal (Most likely with the jets) to obtain his UFA Status. OR Jets trade his rights away in the OFFSEASON, they wont trade him NOW, as they are most likely headed for post season. Jets wont be sellers they will try to add pieces, trading Dubois NOW for picks and prospects only hurts the team. IF he is traded in the offseason, WHOEVER trades for him would have to try and convince him to sign an extension, which he clearly stated he does not want to do, and sign him for 1 year, thus giving up picks and prospects for a guy to walk in 1 year. IF I am the Habs no deal is done UNLESS an extension is signed. (Personally I dont want him on the team, also I think he is looking for his pay day, and some American team with less taxes is where he will go).....Just my thoughts. So all depends if PLD was serious about going to UFA, or just told that to the Jets because he doesnt want to play in Winnipeg.

No. The Rumor is that Montreal actually really likes the player and tried to get him when Holland phoned to see who is available at the trade deadline. The French thing is definitely a bonus for Montreal. In reality it looks like he will be ready for the NHL next year and he would be a top 10 pick if the draft was redone today.

Dallas gets a good playoff guy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Josh Anderson's playoff career: 43 GP, 8-6-14, put up a 5-1-6 in 22 GP during Montreal's Cup run in 2021
Radek Faksa's playoff career: 52 GP, 7-9-16, put up a 3-5-8 in 19 GP durin Dallas' Cup run in 2020
but sure, Dallas adds Kyrou and a pair of picks for that big gap in playoff productivity</div></div>
I'll do you one better. He only scored in 3 out of the 22 games he played.
He had a 1 goal game in a 2-1 win against Toronto. He had a 2 goal game in 3-2 OT wins over Vegas and Tampa.
That's it. <strong>Except</strong> those are 3 wins where he was a difference maker, including 2 OT winners.
If you want to reduce it to just numbers:
It takes 16 wins to get the cup and $82.5M to do it with.
Each win costs 82.5M/16 = $5.15M.
Anderson was directly responsible for 2 and half credit of a 3rd win.
2.5/16 = 15.625%
15.625% of an $82.5M cap = $12.89M
So he provided $12.89M worth of wins with a $5.5M cap hit.
All those numbers mean exactly bupkiss.
What matters is that he's a player who has the potential to get it done when noone else can and help you get wins in the playoffs where size, speed, strength, and grit are perceived as critical to a team's success.

I would wait another 12 months and sign Dubois as a UFA, and keep Barron and the first. Let's be patient and embrace the rebuild.
Buying out Hoffman's contract next summer would be a better option.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>It cost Calgary a 1st to dump Monahan just a few months ago. Cannot imagine his value has changed all that much.
So let’s start with what the market is actually paying:
Monahan + 2025 1st round pick (CGY) = 0
Severson = late 1st, 3rd
Wideman = 3rd
By my math…
Monahan, Wideman + two 1sts = Severson</div></div>
I can't fault your Math, but I challenge your logic.
Nobody knew where Monahan was at in his rehabilitation, which is why Calgary paid to dump him. He had been severely injured for 2 seasons. To everyone's surprise he IS healthy and is playing amazing and producing on a mediocre team at a 0.67 PPG pace.
Put aside the trade value from the offseason when his status was uncertain and accept that he is healthy again and he becomes a very valuable player.

What would it take
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SCGLisme2</b></div><div>Just to make the Cap work for the Avs only.</div></div>
I am saying you don't need to add a 2nd and 4th, if the Avs see a need to fill the hole left by Landy they would likely pay the late 1st without adding anything else and since Landy will be on LTIR then they don't need cap space either. If you chose to you could also make the deal Drouin for the 2025 2nd with the condition that if Drouin scores more than 50 points and plays in a minimum of 50% of the Avs games it upgrades to their 2023 1st.
