<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>YeahDudeitsChris</b></div><div>If i meant this one fan I'd have said that. The pure volume of trades where MTL gives up dime a dozen bottom 6ers for top line producers or premium draft assets/prospects for years indicts the entirety of your fanbase as it far exceeds the number of ridiculously detached from reality trades any other fanbase produces. It's likely a product of your local media telling you trades and setting expectations wayyyyy too high but unless it gets called out for the insanity that it is, it only gets worse.</div></div>
So you openly admit that it is not only this one post but an entire fan base that thinks like this right after I state that the offer is ridiculous for NJ and they definitely don't do it proving it's not the entire fanbase!
Most of the trades posted are one sided for the team the poster cheers for, no harm, no fowl. You could always look the other way or call out the poster.
The reason you see trades of this nature is due to the fact that so called know it all hockey fans call out other fans for what they say are impossible trades. IE: "There is no way the Habs get a 1st round pick for Monahan"...... Like you they are wrong missing the big picture as in essence they received 2 x 1st round picks for Monahan. The proof gets out soon enough.
Anyhow like I stated before, this trade doesn't happen as a Habs fan speaking for the Habs fanbase, NJ rejects it.

Savard is a proven playoff performer and stanley cup winner. Jersey can have all these guys who Contribute come playoff time for two playoff runs for close to the same amount of money as Timo makes.
Timo is not performing like a 9 million dollar player and he has 7 more seasons to go.</div></div>
You put up a good argument for a trade that still gets turned down by NJ. Solves more problem for the Habs than it does for NJ.

It's one thing to say the "one fan" who posts a trade he'd like to see on a site that is for fun discussion, is a bad trade for trade partner.
It's another thing to say that the entire "fanbase is the laughing stock of the league" based on one for fun trade.
Shows you disrespect as the comment maker and the lack of knowledge in general as a hockey fan! But thanks for that.
As a Habs fan, NJ doesn't do this trade since it's a terrible offer.

2024
As trades go on this site, if the Habs can't put together a pkg of 4 x 1st's for Zegras then the Oil definitely won't.
Just stop the Oil are stuck with Campbell, I thought these trades were over and done with.
Lastly Kovacevic is staying, it's Savard that will be traded! Honest mistake I see.

It only looks that way because Dach and Dvo are hurt. Once they come back; albeit next season, there are more Centers than spaces available. I thing the HABS would at least entertain the idea.

The extra 4 years of cap space that keeping Gally gives Montreal is worth more to Montreal than Huberdeau's contract.</div></div>

After all, Montreal isn't making the playoffs this year and you don't really expect them to go further than the Kings in 2025, do you? Even for the most rabid Habs fan, that hope would be too delusional.</div></div>
No one said that the Habs were making the playoffs and PLD would not help in that respect anyhow so keep him. I'm gonna throw this out there and say that the Kings will get a worse draft pick than the Habs and it won't be the 32nd overall if you catch my drift. Who knows what can happen in 2025, someone will let you know when the time comes I'm sure.

The ask for Monahan is a 1st+ so I don't see why this doesn't make sense. Pods doesn't seem to be performing like the top ten pick he was....yet!
I would rather have Dach, Caufield, Newhook or dare I say Zegras from that draft year......:halo

The Habs would have to add to the CGY deal, but still wouldn't do it. Gally done in 3 years and Hubby has 7 after this. That's a bad contract just waiting to happen and it will happen!

He's in Montreal because Calgary didn't want him. The ask is a 1st round pick which they will get from some team out there, maybe not NYR but like I said the value is about right.
