Not at all. Johnny is by far the best forward on the jackets. He was basically a PPG after the all star break. If the jackets had a 1C or a not completely awful powerplay he’d be over a PPG.

I want lindstrom too. Levshunov is very tempting too.
Werenski-jiricek
Mateychuk-levshunov
Svozil-Severson
This looks very tempting

Can’t see the jackets trading gaudreau. He’s easily their best forward and was a PPG after the all star break. He’d be over a PPG player again if the jackets actually had a 1C and even an average PP

Don’t see why the flames do that without even a first rounder. Also think Kane will want quite a bit more now that he’s healthy and was almost a PPG.

few changes for another season of development
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MTLaveragefan</b></div><div>Well clearly if the Jacket see Lindstrom as the absolute BPA at 4th and not comparable to the others... then sure... it's not happening.
But if they like him... but they also like Catton, Iginla or any other D... then getting an extra first, a nice RHD prospect (could also be a LHD like Harris or Struble) to help them make the choice could be a no-brainer.</div></div>
Jackets aren’t trading down for any of those prospects that won’t make their roster. Why would the jackets want middling defensive prospects when they already have guys like jiricek, mateychuk, and svozil who are all better and can’t get playing time as is?
Like I said if levshunov, lindstrom, and demidov are off the board already and the jackets don’t have a preference for the remaining prospects then they might consider trading down with the Habs for the jets first round pick

Why are the jackets trading down for a RD that won’t make even make the team? The jackets will just draft lindstrom themselves. Value wise you need to include the jets first but I still don’t think the jackets do it unless lindstrom, levshunov, or demidov are all off the board

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>I don't mind this. Either Greaves or Tarasov is the future (or Ivanov, or a future draftee if the rebuild takes that long), but both need to play, and there's only one NHL net. Preference is to buy out Elvis and sign literally any UFA goaltender that'll take a 1 year deal to be the backup on a bottom-10 team in all likelihood.
That said: Georgiev is a clear upgrade at backup, but I don't know that this team should be spending any assets at all on that position at the moment.</div></div>
Buying Elvis out and trading for Georgiev would be dumb. You waste more draft picks and spend even more cap space than just keeping Elvis. Not to mention georgiev is a downgrade from Elvis.

Time to Make It Happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jacketsman61</b></div><div>The ranges in this draft are very interesting. There are going to be some players that are going to fall and moving down to improve the D is not a terrible idea. This is an aggressive move to try and make this team competitive. SJ has no reason to move Ferraro so the Jackets have to give them a reason to. The Jackets are a team that doesn’t need to get involved in FA bidding wars. They are better to move assets to bring him in now. We have a lot of players we need to find space for and this would help while giving us a legit 1-2 punch down the middle. Fantilli is great but he is not ready to carry the team. We need Draisaitl to be a player who can instantly make Gaudreau a factor again.</div></div>
Why wouldn’t they just draft levshunov then instead of trading for Ferraro? He’s on of the best players in the NCAA already. He’s almost instantly better than Ferraro the second he is drafted. If you trade provorov you likely get a late first back. Package that and some other pieces for Ferraro. With a top 5 pick you should be getting a player of werenskis caliber back not ferraro

He tries to trade away a top 5 pick in the draft for players worth a very late first max. Tried to trade the 24 first for Ullmark and now Ferraro lol. Awful trades

They already have greaves too even if Elvis is traded. In this scenario they would just sign Ned for cheaper
