Voronkov isnt available, especially for that package. I would be down for just a trade around Elvis for VV though.

Offseason
From CBJ - hell no on Voronkov. we have a plethora of smallish wingers and centers. He is one of the few on this team that is large 6'4 230lbs. that also plays center/wing, skates well, has good hands, defensively responsible and has a bite to his game. Ohh yea his hockey sense is very good not elite but close

Laine Norris Swap
Norris is a bigger longterm risk than Laine, in my opinion. He's had three surgeries to the same shoulder now, all on his shooting side. Laine has had a series of one-off freak injuries, the most recent two coming as a result of dirty hits by opposing players, and mental health issues. For now, I'd rather hold onto Laine to see if he can rebound mentally than take on Norris in hopes that his career isn't simply over.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Montreal1st</b></div><div>Oh, so you can agree that Laine is extremely over-paid, useless outside of PP time and even though big, he has a FRACTION of Anderson's hits. Actual money owed at this point is less for Anderson, Anderson is a power forward and not a "scorer". Few teams have the cap to roll the dice on Laine at this point. I could care less if Montreal gets Laine, it is a huge gamble to get a guy paid 9 million and can only get 15 minutes of ice time in Columbus</div></div>
For someone who could care less, you seem to be very invested on the dunking ratio from everyone posting here.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Anderson vs. Laine isn't even the crux of the argument. Jiricek has 1st-pair potential, and is the only RD in the system like that. If that pick is 6OA, the only RD with similar potential in this draft (Levshunov) is already gone. Honestly I don't think Columbus could trade him for 6OA straight up.
So the rest is Barron and Harris to dump Anderson. Anderson isn't waiving his NTC to go back to Columbus, which given how he left, is definitely one of his 5-8 teams depending on when the trade is proposed. Barron and Harris isn't enough to dump him, they're redundant and not an improvement on the plethora of D we already have.
And then you want us to add Laine, who aside from this year where he was taken out by headhunting and a slewfoot, has been near ppg for Columbus and is a previous 40-goal scorer. On a team with no cap crunch, no desire to move him, and a severe lack of star players.
I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but come on...this isn't it.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SydBarrett</b></div><div>😂😂😂😂 man this is so funny. I forgot goals don’t win games . Hits do. My bad I must have been thinking of a different sport .
If you think Laine is so terrible and Anderson is so good then why the hell did you put them in the trade</div></div>
Seriously. I’m certain there are a ton of teams that would love to trade for $16.5M worth of hits over the next three years.
CBJ just aren’t one of them.

CBJ pass. No rush to trade Laine, and if we are it’ll be for a commensurate package for a guy you want playing on your top line, and who has still been a .80ppg player on a series of bad CBJ teams.
Not a dump and a 2nd.

CBJ pass. Very mid package with some dumps that we don’t need, and that’s even before we talk (1) retention; and, (2) trading inter-division a player with term.

Also targeting wingers is strange as of now with the wingers we have. Unless they are young, like svech it doesn’t make sense.
Don’t really want to move chinakhov either tbh. Of all the Russians he has the highest upside. I see him as a potential buch tbh. Just needs to stay healthy.</div></div>

Habs
Habs fans around here have largely gotten the message that we're not sending them KJ for spare parts; while I'm not a Habs fan myself and can't really speak for them, I feel pretty safe in presuming that they don't need Leafs fans stepping up to fill that particular void on their behalf.

And we aren't in a situation for adding a player like Pesce (because of Mailloux and Reinbacher)

Usually KJ to MTL proposals include at least the WPG 1st-round pick, those still quickly get shot down.
2024 MTL 1st, Slaf, Suzuki, or Reinbacher. If one of those isn't included in a deal for KJ, there's no deal. Rightfully, Montreal doesn't entertain that, so there's really no point in discussing it.

Would Canes consider
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SK101</b></div><div>I can assure you the jackets don’t see Johnny as a negative valued asset</div></div>
Remember when everyone said JT Miller's career was over, a negative asset, can't trade that awful contract even with 50% and a first last year? Fans are too caught up in the "what have you done for me lately" mindset. Not saying Johnny is going to get traded but thankfully most GM's look at the full picture, not just look at the score sheet and go "oh only 60 points he sucks". When you actually look into it all his points came from primary assists with hardly no goals nor secondary assists. It doesn't take a genius to realize he's getting smothered when he's out on the ice because the other teams treats him as the only true threat. Its similar to early in Lebron's career he had no assistance in Cleveland and basically the entire strategy was triple guard Lebron and take him out of the game. That's why a healthy Laine, or another viable winger, would make him look like peak JG again as its quite impressive he was able to be a ppg player since the start of the year even when basically playing the equivalent of hard mode this year.

It's funny how so many Leafs fans on here think that if they throw enough players at the Jackets they can get anyone. Nobody wants the Leafs' busts and cap dumps for young players with actual potential.
