Fairly big summer
If Dallas wants Faulk, they can pay full cap hit or pony up something better than Dellandrea and a 3rd. If the Wild want Leddy, they can pay for him. We're not going to be subsidizing rivals like this.

I think Karki is their best D prospect and the most suited tobiur needs, too. And Korcsz is nothing to sneeze at.

Buch Return has to be greater than Lindholm. It is essentially buying two rentals. The return would be around 1.5 times to double what Lindholm got I imagine.
Willander would be your only great piece to make the deal happen honestly.

I think this about what price would be. Nobody is getting buch for a First and non top prospect right now. That could be done next year.

Soft Sell to prepare for the summer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>STLBlues17</b></div><div>The 6.5 million in cap-space is more valuable to me than having Faulk on the roster. Faulk is alright, but that money can be used to get a younger and more impactful player.

1 - My first point is, fine, I'm totally with you on the general concept. But that doesn't change the fact that we could ask for something that fits our needs, especially since he's moving in the division.
Also, what player are you eying with such lavish new cap space? Roy? Carrier?
2 - Ehhh I would not go that far. These wins have been more "gut it out, want it more, capitalize better, game state, goaltending" wins than dominant outings.

And Price. First round tools, so the draft probably put a nice chip on his shoulder.

Sabres most likely aren’t trading Mitts
Very doubtful they’d even consider moving him during the season- maybe in the summer if we can’t get him signed-
MAYBE

They’ve given 5, that’s not uncommon. The uncommon part was it being so early.
If Casey was being pushed out by someone else who was more deserving of a long term deal, that would be one thing.
The sentiment around the team is he’ll re sign. On the 2 percent chance he’s moved it’s probably in the off season. Idk why weeks dropped him as a TDL candidate.

Paraykos value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>STLBlues17</b></div><div>I mean I think it makes the most sense for both team and player to trade him. He’s such a zero on offense that he isn’t exactly helping us win, but he’s so good defensively that he would be an amazing piece on a team where others can pick up the slack. Plus I don’t imagine he’ll be any good by the time the blues are in a contention window. He’s worth a lot though, like a Parayko trade would need to be so good that it takes a year off of this rebuild.</div></div>
Hopefully, 55 remains solid through the Blue's rebuild, but I would not be opposed to moving him for younger prospects. On the other hand, I don't see him waiving his NTC.

No, not really. Dillon likely moves on at the end of the year allowing Samberg to move to the 2nd pair and for now it's nice to let Samberg establish and get comfortable with his game on the 3rd pair without a lot of high pressure minutes being thrown at him.

I don't even think he is much of a longshot. He's just buried behind junk and mishandled - something we know plenty about regarding Dmen in STL.

Doesn't really make sense for the Leafs to move Liljegren unless it's part of a package for a legitimate upgrade with term, imo.

Samberg would be great, but WPG is not trading him to us if they are at all. However, I insist that Army pulls Broberg. Not doing so would just be more malpractice. I'd also add Jett Woo to the list, he could be our new Bortz.

Will Snuggerud and Dvo Leapfrog Bolduc and Dean
What do you mean leapfrog? DD and Snuggs are already more highly rated than Dean and Bolduc. Do you mean on the timeline? Because Dvorsky probably won't be ready by next October. Snuggs is more likely.
All that said, I think you need to not sleep on Bolduc, who seems to be figuring it out already in the A. He's got 2g 3a with a +3 in the last five games.

Blues in 5 years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>STLBlues17</b></div><div>I’m thinking we need to turn some of these prospects into legit good nhl players. Kind of wish we did it last year with Meier and chychrun even though I was against it at the time.</div></div>
I was hoping for Hampus Lindholm in 2022 and then for Chychrun in 2023 but at this point I'm onboard with a slower turnaround. Maybe a guy like Hanifin or Chychrun (next year) wants to sign here as a UFA? I'd be all for that once we can send Krug/Leddy packing, but idk if now is the time to be adding. Team is way too inconsistent and lots of teams will be gunning for playoffs this year so I'd expect a seller's market at the deadline.
Now with that said, I don't think trading guys like Stenberg/Lindstein/Bolduc - really anyone but Dvo or Snuggerud - would bite us if we could get proven young players with term, but there is some difficult shuffling required to make it happen (no trade clauses galore!), and guys that fit that mold rarely become available. Who would you be looking at? And would you trade our 2024 1st to get it done bc to me that's off the table, even if it was protected.

But he has left and came back 3 times so far and until he signed with Detroit he had only signed contracts with STL. That's why I asked. With that kind of connection it's hard to stay upset for long.

Relaxed summer and roster after 2024 deadline
I'm not opposed to trading up, and then flipping the 24oa and 29oa for a young roster player who can help our retool, and still keep the 15oa.
If there's a player like that in place, I'm in.
