As a Sabres fan, I’d rather Levi spend the year playing 60games as the starter in AHL
I think that would be better for his development

Hakanpaa is an interesting idea i haven’t seen before,
especially if we strike out on guys like Roy, DeMelo, etc
I’d prefer him in the 3rd pair, instead of 2nd
But if Power takes a leap forward (like he should be ready to do), then that pair could work out nicely

There's probably less than a handful that should be thinking there safe. Team needs a shakeup and it probably should come from the Core. And if you won't fire Donnie atleast bring in some Assistant Coaches with some experience. In what Universe is Matt Ellis a PP Coach. And they need better overall Leadership.

2024 TDL which means they would have Saros for 2 postseason (if they makes it)
I would imagine BUF are in the playoffs run at the 2024 TDL and they want to strengthen their goalie

None of the trades are bad but I do not know if Buffalo would do them, GMKA seems pretty happy to roll with what they have. Maybe the trade with the Flyers would happen but I would wait until the Hockey Canada investigation files its report. Would suck to get Hart just to have him get suspended.

Agree with earlier thoughts that that is too much for Murphy. I think Rosen, Bryson and the Philly 2nd is probably still a bit much. Isak Rosen, Bryson, & Philly 2nd for Murphy and NYR 2nd (or Chicago 3rd if Rangers make ECF and the pick becomes a '24 1st) is closer to fair from both sides. Rosen is 1st rounder equivalent, Bryson moves a RHD (and a little cap) Buffalo won't need with Murphy and gives the Hawks a RHD option to not have to rush kids, and upgrading to a better 2nd is a nice add. To do as well elsewhere, I think Hawks would have to retain some on Murphy (which they should be willing to do). This is probably a win win. Hawks get a really good forward prospect to jump start the rebuild in an area they need some building blocks (not many high end forward prospects beyond Reichel/Nazar) and a much higher 2nd to hopefully find another option. Buffalo gets a solid vet RHD they can slide into their top 4 to complent and mentor the stable of young D they have accumulated while the only really painful piece they give up is Rosen who they have a pretty deep pool of young forwards already contributing.

Out of those 4 I think I’d rank them (most coveted to least coveted)
1. Kulich- 18yrs old and already in the AHL and plays a very mature game.
2. Savoie- has slipped in his raw #’s this year, but is a top end talent that can add an element the Sabres could use long term.
3. Rosen- Potential Olofsson replacement long term imo.
4. Ostlund- smart heady player but might I just don’t see him being a big time player.

sharks refuse and Buffalo would obviously do it but it isn’t necessary, Buffalo could improve this offseason with 1-2 smart fa pickups. but the team is heading in the right direction, A top Goalie and another solid forward would make this team a contender.

Buffalo would not pull the trigger on the trade this big unless he agreed to an extension prior to. So it wouldn’t be a problem or there wouldn’t be a trade.

I wouldn't be so sure of that... You can pre-order the new Jerseys of Dahlin, Eichel, Oloffson, and Skinner, but not Sam. Not saying that means he's going to be traded, but if he was untouchable, his jersey would be preorderable.

no player will Bolt from Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jgimp69</b></div><div>Do Gourde and Palat waive their NTC’s? I’m doubtful TBay can move out the cap required to sign their big RFAs as not many teams can take that kind of cap without expecting some serious pluses (Colorado).and the teams that do have lots of cap space, most of those players won’t waive to go to (Ottawa).</div></div>
You never know to be honest how it will play out. Gourde and his wife are from Quebec and if he plays on the top line on a team that has a lot of youth in the system he could be back in the playoffs in no time as a top line winger. Not saying Gourde would wavie to Ottawa but there is an argument to be made that he could waive there.
I find it funny how a lot of the armchair GMs always dismiss guys waiving their NTC when they do it all the time. I personally think in the Lightning's situation that Gourde and Johnson are stuck in the bottom six playing 14 min a night but both are 2nd line players on a lot of other teams. The chance to go play 18-20 a night in the top six could be enticing to them.
Tampa is deep and its the depth they are going to lose this year to fit their young good players under the cap.
