the rest is a cap dump to make the money work which is why they'd also have to pay more, to get VAN to take money back

This trade puts Vegas back. Terrible for them</div></div>
How is Demko night and day? Are you saying this after he had a bad 15 game stretch at the beginning of the season when he was injured? He has been one of the most consistent and durable goalies in the league

A hot stretch? 100 games is a pretty long hot stretch. Or do you mean that he is an elite goalie who had a bad 15 games this season when he played with an injury. Demko is the best goalie in the Pacific division

Whats a Flame to do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>even worse</div></div>
Lol what? You are so inconsiderate jesus. The guys father could have been diagnosed with brain cancer and was given like 9 months to live for all we know. What we do know is that he's healthy, he's been staying in shape, he's been skating nearly every day, but for personal reasons he has not returned to North America this year.
Meanwhile instead of looking that up yourself you just made up a false narrative about him being injury prone. Now it's fine if you don't want to trade for him, I think that trade is overall bad for the Flames anyways since the overall gap in play between the 2 players does not make up for the gap in cap space

So you just making **** up now? If he was injured it would have been reported a long time ago that he was injured. Here in reality it's been widely reported that he's out for personal reasons.

Meier trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SakuThornton</b></div><div>I don't think so. Dahlin will come at a $9.5-$10M cap hit for 8 years. Power should be considerably less (probably a bridge deal at $5.5M-$6M).
I think Meier gets the same contract as Tkachuk (8 x $9.5M). The defencemen expire in 1.5 years and the cap should go up by then if escrow is repaid.</div></div>
If Power sign bridge deal, I can agree with you.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aktobos71</b></div><div>Im aware of their rich pool. But they really in need for him? And losing somewhat from pool worth it?</div></div>
Why would they not need a 60-80 pt physical forward? I legit don't understand you're point, Meier isn't old and the Sabres are a WC contender and their prospect pool isn't just rich it's excessive, not all of their forward prospects can make this NHL team some will be moved, they're one of the strongest candidates for this trade

Yeah I’d love to grab Pavs. I think the pens will be able to trade Zucker in the offseason. Especially if he picks up the scoring now that he’s finally got the necessary surgery. Although with how well he initially did with Crosby, maybe they just keep him if they don’t think they’ll get rust and he will replace rust on Crosby’s line. Who knows lol

If KK has a break out season, that's because he receives better ice time and linemates and better coaching, all things he was never going to get with the Habs.

I disagree. Carolina may come out as the big winners here. KK was the #3 pick, is only 21 years old (4 months younger than Svech!), and has tremendous upside as a center. If they lock him up long-term, as it is rumored that they want to do, it could be a massive coup for them if he can take the next step in his development.

This reminds me of the Kuemper trade. It's an overpayment for a guy they desperately needed.

Bit of a gamble based on one season. Would have waited till the end of this season before giving him that kind of money and term. But if he can continue to perform like he did the previous season then its a good deal.
