I think he's too soft to be like Tuch, and not skilled enough to be Thompson.
I would say he's more like Pacioretty, but with 25 goals seasons. Big streaky player not using his size enough.

2023 Top 15
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>I really enjoyed your draft guide for the 2022 draft and this one looks really complete and promising. I like watching prospects during the year so your analyzes are interesting.
For that top 15, I really like Cameron Allen for Team Canada during the Hlinka-Gretzky tournament. What do you think about him ?</div></div>
Thank you. As for Allen, I actually like him a lot. He’s good in all three zones, solid size (a bit short for a defender but more than makes up for it being 190 plus pounds). All situations kind of defender. Shows flashes of a really high hockey iq, but needs to make more consistent and quick decisions. Overall should be a lock in the first round, and could be a top 15 pick. Just not on my ranking for top 15 as of right now.

If Price Retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>I like the idea of getting Nicolas Roy but Riley Kidney is really good in the Q. I'd do it if you switch Kidney with Mysak tho. The fact that we are probably going into a rebuild makes the signing of Perron not worth it. I could see Letang signing with us only if Petry is leaving.</div></div>
I suppose I am just unsure really of what Vegas's asking price would be for Roy, could be lower or could be higher. Kidney has had a great season in the Q right but so did Roy for his time there. If the price for a young, 6'4" 200 pound center is Kidney and a second I personally wouldn't refuse it. These types of guys are very important for the depth of contending teams.

Spitballing options on Zacha to Habs deal
Respectfully, the only one of those that makes even a little bit of sense for Montreal is the Dvorak one.
-Latest rumour is that Harris will sign with Montreal after his college season is over. Even then, Montreal probably isn't interested in a futures-type deal. Especially if they're giving up a very high 2nd. That package can get them a better fit.
-If Montreal is retaining 50% on Petry, then the Devils are adding a lot.
-Zacha isn't worth Farrell or Roy from Montreal's POV.
-Romanov is pretty unlikely to be moved.

Again, try Sellgren, or Fensore. Honka's closer, but Heimosalmi and Morrow are borderline untouchable. If you don't know how good a prospect is, you really shouldn't try to make comparable trades using that prospect.

What we will look like in a couple seasons
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>You're right I really like Nemec. I think it will depends on where we are drafting this year but Wright, Cooley, Nemec and Slafkovsky are great candidates. Yes Skinner is playing great for you this year. The goalies are not really a priority for us and we'll let Primeau develop more and see. Same thing for Dobes and Dichow.</div></div>
Yah I believe you can always get offence later, either through drafting or free agency, but defence is harder.. especially a RHD. If you get first, of course you get Wright, and get a good center depth, but if you don’t get 1OA, they should try and get Nemec, or Jiricek. That defence with one of them, would look pretty good! I also believe Primeau will be good, they just need to develop him, and wait for a while for him. I mean look at Binnington for example. He has bad till he was 25 or 26, and now he is good. Of course he is not having the best season right now, but he will turn it around.

That’s a lot of holes ahah! I think it would be beneficial for them to draft a defence man this year, and round out that defence. Getting Nemec, or Jiricek should do it! I think that defence would look pretty good with one of them. Also, isn’t Primeau going to be the starter? I know he’s not playing well, but give him some time.. he will get better. Look at Skinner, he was bad till this year.. some goalies just take more time.

Not sure both would be great options. Gauthier would be an Anderson player, while Howard would another Caufield. I think I'd prefer Howard, simply because of the goal scoring potential, but both would be great picks.

A lafreniere trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cdn_bacon</b></div><div>In what world is Toffoli a core piece for a Laf trade?</div></div>
Rangers have reportedly said that if Lafreniere can't play the right side in the top 6 that they don't see him fitting in long term. So they're obviously looking for a guy to fit in their top 6 on the right side - which Toffoli fits. Toffoli's been one of the better goal scorers in the league over the last few seasons while playing responsible defence. He's on a steal of a contract (if he was a UFA this summer he'd be over $7M AAV easily), and he has term left.
You're likely thinking Lafreniere has extreme value because he was a 1st overall pick and has untapped potential - unfortunately where a player was drafted has absolutely no affect on his value. Value is determined by a players performance and where their team sees them fitting into their future plans. So with Lafreniere's lack of performance and reported now fitting in long term, that definitely means he's available.
Toffoli is an ideal fit for the Rangers so they may see it as a guy that fits their need currently and long term thus being extremely valuable to them. I said a deal would likely start around Toffoli and Lafreniere, both sides would likely add but the base of a trade of Lafreniere for Toffoli makes a ton of sense for both sides.

Price and allen should be traded so they could reach maximum trade value. Allen traded to Pittsburgh for poulin, desmith, 3rd. We run in net for the rest of the year with desmith and montembeault. Next year we sign marc andré fleury and either keep montembeault / desmith. One goalie I really like is ilya konovalov from edmonton. If we make a deal with them ever has to be part of the deal. He will be a gem, I guarantee. I see very minimal potential of primeau

I say that currently the canadiens just need to keep price and allen. however, primeau hopefully will be in the NHL in a few seasons as a backup, making allen expendable. then primeau works his way up to taking the starter role from price, and when price retires, one of montembeault, mcniven, dobes, or dichow become the backup

I wouldn't rush anything tbh. With all the uncertainty surrounding Price, Allen has to stay. Montembeault is the only spot that <em>could</em> use an upgrade, but even then he's not an awful #3 that can suit as #2 when Price is absent. Re-sign Primeau to a three-year contract à la Vladar/Ingram, and see what you have in him when Allen expires.

Non,
They are in trouble for the next 3-4 years.
You know goaltender need more time and reach their full potential at 25...
Montembault, Primeau are fringe NHL... so hopefully in 2-3 years from now one of Dobes or Dochow would turn in a gems.
Until then... run after UFA or DeSmith, Domingue type of guy with one of Allen or Price
