Moves in the offseason
Some interesting trades here. The EK65 trade to Buffalo does make a lot of sense, biggest hang up would probably be if EK actually agrees to go there this summer

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboJoe</b></div><div>Montreal trade is bad for both of us
Retaining that much on Vlasic is very bad for us and we need that 1st given our depleted group of prospects
Ylonen is a solid prospect, more valuable than Tampa's 2020 1st. In a way it's Vlasic with 1.75 in retention for a 6th.</div></div>
Yeah I made that trade with the mind of Vlasic’s contract making him a negative value asset. There’s no denying the contract is rough. I personally like him as a Shark but in order for DW to really improve this team, one of him or Burns probably needs to go.

Template Roster
1. Goaltending. Agreed. The goalie UFA market is relatively strong this season. Only way DW pursues someone like Holtby or Lehner is if they find a way to unload Jones and there's only like a 10% chance of that happening. Fortunately there was some signs of stability in our net as Jones got more rest and I'm sure Nabby helped. Somebody like Halak, Khudobin, Greiss at 2.5-3M AAV feels more likely as a 1A/1B. I'm still hopeful SJ can perhaps find a means to acquire Georgiev out of NY although that ship will sail if NY chooses to buy out Lundqvist as it sounds is possible. Labanc would maybe need to be offered here in a trade to entice NY to ship out Georgiev.
2. Yeah I would argue we should look in to acquiring two mid-top six forwards either via trade or free agency. Especially if they choose to ship out Labanc which is possible in the right deal as I mentioned above. Wouldn't surprise me to see SJ send TB back their first rounder for a guy like Palat or Killorn. I would hope SJ only trades one of their first three picks in this draft. Somebody like Toffoli or Dadonov is tempting off the UFA market to bolster the RW position along with a forward acquisition via trade.
^ Only way we afford this (as I'm personally thinking there will be no CBO's this summer) is to offload one of Vlasic or Burns. I still think Burns is capable of 15g, 50a if healthy, he's relatively durable after all. He should have a couple dynamic years left in him at the least I believe. This leads us to Vlasic. I love the guy and still believe he's a true top four sound defensive Dman however that contract is bad. As much as I love him in teal, shipping him to someone like MTL with salary retained might be our answer to really improving in net and the forward depth. A guy like Edmundson (LD) could be had off the market for half the cost, obviously with less skill however.
3. I agree that we should bring back Bob and his crew. They really did help us to stabilize our defense and GA.

Min trade
Yeah I don’t think Minny does this. The common belief regarding Kaprizov is that this guys the next Panarin. And I’m sure Minny wants to take the gamble on him and retain him unless the offer is really out of the park.

SJ into next training camp CAR CHI BUF COL
With Wilson and co set on trying to be competitive again next season, this type of offseason would not get it done. I agree with keeping Dell around and maybe Patty for league minimum. I also agree Wilson needs to keep an eye towards the future with every move he makes from here on out but they seriously need forward help to become competitive again and that likely doesn’t happen to the extent this team needs unless one of Burns, Vlasic, or Jones (impossible) are dealt for cap space.

Fixing the Broken Team in the Offseason
The only issue here is with Jones being bought out and salary retention on Burns, the team finds itself spending nearly 4 Mil for two guys not even playing for them anymore which would be rough. Not sure if DW would do this as it would just look very inefficient on his part to the owner. That being said, one of Jones being bought out or Burns being dealt could definitely happen

Burns trade thoughts
Yeah I think if SJ is retaining $3M they would expect to get a lot more. That return there would be more feasible if SJ was only retaining around 1.5M or so and even then you’d probably have to throw in a mid range prospect on top

Could be. Although Toffoli’s numbers last season don’t accurately portray his skill level. At his best he can be a 25 goal-60 point winger

Sharks fan here. Yeah Simek seems to be the best partner with Burns, he was great before he went down with injury last season. Dillon probably could be had and SJ does need another mid to top six winger, preferably righty, but I don’t think that deal gets it done. Correct me if I’m wrong but it was my impression that Rust gets a lot of value from the stars in Pitty..? That and Blichfield is one of our better prospects I’d and he’s a righty which we need in the pipeline. Idk much about Bellerive in your trade
