Off-season, + he was second highest in scoring last season on a Islanders team that went to the conference final and lost in game 7 to TBL.
I regret my change of scenery comment because that's not true, he's an offensive dynamo.
He's a good, veteran, leadership player.

Bailey is a certified 2nd line playoff player, and a change of scenery may boost his production value in the regular season. And he doesn't even have a bad contract imo, 5 million aav isn't bad for a player of his production. It's not great either, but Calgary would have the cap space to sign him, especially if they want to get the Stanley Cup.
No way in a million years Bailey has negative value.

You can say that with anyone. The Oilers would trade McDavid if it the right package came around.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilersguy</b></div><div>overpay imo</div></div>
Devils would be willing to bring Hughes in. 22 years old, future franchise d-man, together with the other 2 Hughes, as well as Vancouver's unwillingness to let him go. Plus, Devils would assume that they make and go deep in the playoffs, so I'm seeing it as a late first rounder.

Sabres would be willing to trade Olofsson for a first rounder and a centre. Sabres have plenty of depth on the wings.

Yeah, we truly only have 1 PK LH d-men, and Hunt isn't one of them. (Hughes maybe, but his physical presence doesn't make him a proper PK imo)

It's CapFriendly, stop taking it too seriously. You're treating it like there has been real life talks for Hughes, there hasn't. The Canucks aren't going to move him, but it's just for fun. Honestly makes the replies much more frustrating to look at when teams trade their franchise player, and comments talk about how there's no reason to trade their player. Don't get me started on the roleplaying part of the comments.
In the end, it's all for fun, it's not like Armchair GM users are going to become gm to an NHL franchise.
Sorry for ranting, it honestly infuriates me.

Highmore isn't going to even be considered for trade talks until he's healthy again, and I don't see the Nucks just giving him up for free without giving him a fair shot considering they traded Gaudette to get him</div></div>
MacEwan got placed on waivers by a coach who isn't even there anymore.
Just the fact that he's a young, fourth line grinder shows his worth.
Are you really defending Chiasson's spot?

I assume Buffalo signs Giroux in the offseason to be 1C
Coyle is becoming a veteran centre who would help develop Quinn and is definitely better than Thompson.

And if they make a trade for a C2 they won’t be using Coyle to do it. They still need him.</div></div>
Boston needs to offload someone to stay within cap regulations then. And if you're saying, don't make the trade, Boston is a 1 line team right now, they need the bottom 9 to perform, and trading assets seems the most logical way for that to happen.

Schmidt wanted out of Vancouver, asked for a trade, he just did not want to go to Winnipeg. They basically told him it was there or nothing.
Coyle does not want out nor does Boston want to move him.</div></div>
Boston needs a proper second line centre. They traded for Coyle hoping he would develop into that, but he hasn't. 14 points in 26 games is not good enough, especially when you're linemates with Hall. And 5 mill to be a third line centre is too much.
