Thread: Manson trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFOX10900</b></div><div>While that's better than most proposals on here, I still don't see the ducks doing it, unless they're really really high on one of the RHD specs, bc they don't need any more middle 6 forwards, they already have Kase Terry Steel Ritchie Lundestrom Comtois Silf Rico and maybe guys like BOG Morand Sprong or Sherwood coming up/here for a while (assuming Raks Zegras and one of the previously named guys or a 2020 pick are the top line), and while yes, Johnsson/Kap/Kerfoot would be upgrades over some of them, <strong>it's not worth downgrading their literal only competent RHD man </strong>for a maybe who likely won't be as good in the future, for a slight upgrade at an already crowded position that's why (for me at least) it has to be Lilja coming back, there's just nothing else that makes remote sense (obv if TOR wanted to give like Nylander it smth I'd accept in a heartbeat lol) like I get that TOR fans don't want to move him, but ANA also has no need for anyone but him (also I don't see him as a future elite top pairing guy like most leafs fans seems to think)</div></div>

That is the main hookup with any kind of Manson trade. Anaheim may not be willing to move him for anything less than overpayment, which the Leafs are not going to do right now. In terms of value, barring an overpayment or Manson having another career year, I doubt Anaheim will find better for him in a trade. It could definitely get worse though as he starts getting older, burning term on his contract, and continues to have some weaker years.
