I agree Forbort should be playing 3rd pair minutes. I like Mac, but too slow. Dion's physicality can be filled by Brown, Cliffy and Schenn. Campbell has been pretty decent, solid back up still developing. When he's healthy, Cal is going back down. IMO Dion has to go to clear cap.

Oilers Trade
He needs to go for his own good. Edmonton is a place where players go to die. He's a good player and a change (mutual) would do him well. Even McJesus can't save the Oilers.

Well, it's obvious you can't think for yourself. You're thoughtful analysis of the issue is stunning and brilliant. Hurry, somebody in the NHL snatch this generational genius up before his talent for banality, lack of substance and trolling is wasted on Cap Friendly. Dear God, help us.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FlamesBlow</b></div><div>Nuge is more valuable than Toffoli (significantly)
Nurse is more valuable than Martinez (largely due to age)
Budaj is a negative value, plus we have Montoya who is the same player.
A third round pick doesn't cover the gap, not even close.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jdfuturebiggm</b></div><div>oilers would never do that, nuge has more value and is alot better a D, nurse may not be better than Martinez, but has more value, Budaj would be the thirdish goalie on the team so him or montoya idk whos better
you also got to be kidding on the ottawa trade, goalies both should be in the AHL at best, but id give condon the slight edge. so Forbert for Dizingel 1 for 1 would never go through from the sens side of things.
all in all, your value is leaned heavily towards LA favour</div></div>
RNH has to go. He's getting killed in Edmonton. TT and AM for RNH would be a better deal or even TT, Muzzin, Brickley and 2nd for RNH and Nurse.

Erbody 4 Sale
Meh. They're about 10 points out of the running for playoff spot. Everyone that can be traded, should be traded. No one can score and their defense is average. They're never going to get more from these players in trades cghan they will this year. It's silly to think as they get older, they'll get better. Kopitar already looks ancient. Sorry, but Forbort is garbage. He's got a decent contract, but even Walker has more upside (offense) than what Forbort provides defensively. Hell, move Fantenberg up with DD and you'll get similar results for a fraction of the price. As far as picks, they're worthless unless they're 1st rounders. Kovi, im guessing, will ask for a trade if this keeps up.
"players already in or past their primes like Panarin, Dzingel, Bjugstad, and Edler." What? The first 3 are just getting into their prime. Edler is a cap dump. It's an absolute upgrade.
I keep reading about Martinez. He's WAY overvalued. He worth a mid round 2nd? Name a forward in the league that would be a fair 1 for 1 trade..... anyone?

Edler on last year of contract. It's a cap dump.
Carter, that's a tough one. He's just older and had a few more years on contract without trade restrictions.
There's no reason to hold onto Kovi. My guess is he requests a trade by Feb. He went to LA to win, not be dead last.
Forgot is garbage. Save some $ and play Brickley or Clague. They need the experience.
Dzingle is young, fast and scores. Alec is worth, at BEST, a 3rd. Campbell is good bait and Wagner is 4th liner.
The Panarin trade - yes, it's assumed he signs with LA. But getting him for free in the summer can't happen because it'll be a bidding war ang they need to clear space to play him.
Cam is garbage, true. But he's a good, cheaper mentor for Peterson. Quick is always hurt. Philly needs goaltending more than Laughton.
Right, no 1sts gained, but none lost.

It's already too late. It's clearing cap in exchange for UFAs. Goaltending will be the problem.
The title is click bait.

Darling is stinky. Neither forward is resigning with Carolina. Quick is the best piece and with CAR defense, that should improve the team. LA isn't concerned with resigning both, maybe one. But either way it's a cap dump.

And the 1st is too much. DD is great, but the team sucks and would improve overall with that deal. I do it 10 out of 10 times, as things are going.

Trade ML to another team with a pick or prospect. That team then trades ML back to Oilers but retaining $$$. Win- win. Team buying draft picks. What's it worth is the question. $1mm=3rd?

Ah, correct. Any team is gonna have to overpay for a Norris 2x cup winner in his prime. All these deals are terrible on the back end, just how it is.

Giving a 2nd and retaining $ for 8 years! Negative. No pick, no $ and add another 1st and done deal. Toronto's going deep so the 1sts are almost like high second round picks.

Carter for Stone is a steal for Ottawa. He ain't resigning. Kings gamble because he may not resign either. If they did it, I'd actually flip Stone for picks and prospects. Carter still has value, need to take advantage.

Those players and a 1st (which would be a high pick because LA sucks) is reasonable. PK is looking at his last years and now's the time. It's diminishing returns from here on out.

Why should LA pay so much for Kempe? He started last year good, finished with no goals for months. Has been a penalty machine this year. I like him and LA should keep him, but $4mm? Is he worth more than Pearson? I am guessing he's worth a bridge deal for 2 millionish. ???

Nylander
1. Yeah, ok, he's got 2 good seasons on an offense-first team. He's a good support player
2. Leafs may be able to sign WN, AM and MM, but at what price? They'll have no blue line to speak of. That's their achilles heel. Giving up WN seems inevitable.
3. Kopitar, Kovalchuck, Carter, Brown, and Doughty (no particular order there) and then Nylander. It's more than goals. It's hard to predict, but I see Nylander only having slightly better numbers than Toffoli. He's a complimentary player. He ain't no Panarin.

Nylander
TT & Muzz is too much for a young player with really one good year on an offensive team. LA is where offense goes to die. So maybe Nylander is a bust. TOR needs D with term on good contract and that's Muzz. They can't keep WN and extend AM. I'm willing to bet Pearson can consistently score 20+ in TOR system. TOR has little leverage and getting these players or lose him for much less (or to KHL) seems fair.
