No, that's actually Pierre Dorion's account.

The trade doesn't make sense. Sens are still very weak on defense. Sanderson might be a top pairing defenseman before the end of his ELC, but that's not a guarantee. His recent injury history is also a bit of a concern. In a best case scenario where Sanderson and Chabot are the 1A/1B, it still makes no sense to move Chabot, because the Senators would simply be comfortable on the blueline, they would not be dealing from a position of strength.

Tkachuk probably doesn't want to come to Ottawa. He also probably wants a contract that Ottawa won't do. Brady pushed the Senators to their limits, and he is supposed to be the easy going one. Tkachuk will want 5-7 years at minimum 9 million (probably higher) with a NMC and full signing bonuses. The Senators, even with their recent exciting moves, are not doing that.

For salary/fit, it has to be one of Batherson, Norris, or Debrincat. Batherson is too valuable because of his contract, and only makes sense if there is some major **** about to go down with the Team Canada stuff, and the Senators don't want that liability (He hasn't been proved as involved, but is one of the names linked). It won't be Norris. He and the Tkachuks have the same agent. "I know we just signed your client 8 years, but we're flipping him for your other client, who by the way the two of us need to hammer out an extension on". How does that conversation go? Debrincat also makes no sense because they just acquired him.

There is no deal that makes any sense.
