Last LW Option Once They Lock up Lafreniere
No Laffy will definitely get an offer sheet....multiple offer sheets in fact, from the Habs and Canes just to name a few.....it will happen, just like all the offer sheets Miller got.

I get both guys needing a change of scenery. Jones to Carolina might make sense even though they have a stacked defense as mvp13 alluded to but perhaps he could crack the lineup the following year with Skjei off the books. Drury to Rangers though doesn't really seem to make much to me. The Rangers don't need a C any time soon, and considering the development of forwards in NY, I wouldn't think that NY is the best place for him to get a chance if he's playing on the wing.</div></div>
The other thing I forgot to mention, Drury actually does have a roster spot on CAR right now (granted, on the 4th line), so it makes even less sense for CAR haha... he seems to be the first man up to get elevated on the depth chart on any injury. They'd need a 4C in return to make this work

There's no room for Jones on CAR, either. Their D is even more stacked than forwards, somehow.
Even without him they are stacked, but Tony DeAngelo is going back to CAR in a few days (trade issues with the CBA).
I don't think it's a good fit. Maybe picks instead

I can see Cuylle getting a permanent spot once a forward goes down with injury. Feel like Othmann might need to wait until midseason though.

Agreed, Drury did good, and he has room for Laffy and Miller without losing Goodrow. He also noted he is not trading Laffy, so I think the team is close to set.

Now we will see if he can get Laf and Miller signed to those deals. And perhaps if he can sign Kane to a 1 year, low AAV contract (he would start on LTIR)</div></div>

Is Blake Wheeler a Decent Option if He Gets a Buyout
Prime example of what we Don'T want! Slow in his prime now a senior, bad news bears captain/leader, passenger like Panarin, Kane, Senko. Buying out glue Goodrow for an expensive floater would shift us back to those embarrassing times

He has lost some speed, and skill, but he will still be a good addition on the third line of a contending team if the contract is around a million per.

I’d only sign Wheeler IF he’s dirt cheap and Kane doesn’t want to re-sign for cheap. Wheeler is going to be 37 end of august and I doubt he has much left in the tank

Nothing wrong with Goodrow. It's his contract.

Actually after looking at the numbers and the ages of the players, I’d love to get Stepan on the 2-year/$800k Jimmy Vesey special deal

Bottom 6 Free Agency
Probably the most realistic AGM I’ve seen so far. The only difference I can see is maybe we trade Goodrow instead of buy out. That reduces our available cap space by $200k, so we’d have to convince Bjugstad or Eller to take slightly cheaper deals, or maybe skip Eller all together in favor of Brassard or Stepan on a sub-$1M deal

Jets Trade and Buyout to Lock Up Miller Longer
Love Nino, and think he is a good fit.
I think if it takes 7mill for Miller we let another team do that. I love Miller, but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for me.
I think we need Jones… we need another puck moving defenseman. And I think he could quarterback PP2 pretty well.

Jets Trade and Buyout to Lock Up Miller Longer
I would be really surprised to see the Rangers go into next season without losing a significant piece this offseason.
Lafreniere is not signing for $2.4m
K’Andre Miller is a major offer sheet candidate and will likely be pushing for a long term deal (which you’ve got the right idea on) as opposed to a bridge deal and it will likely take more than $5.5m to accomplish that. I could see a team offering upwards of $6.5m-$7m a year.

Capped out league already. The last thing the owners want is to lose control of rfa salaries as well. Imagine every TD&H like Laf, who is worth 2.5m, gets a 1x6m bridge deal lol, or 4x 5m. That's not it their cards

Comes down to owners, not GM's. Molson was spanked for his offersheet by Dundon & owners. The only one in ten years. The won't happen. Chytil & Kakko magically signed @ 2x 2.3/2.1m, same with Laf.

New York Rangers trade candidates
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shakabakes</b></div><div>Lindgren won't be moved this year, but I would say there is a 95% chance he gets traded after next Season. His current deal and expires, and he will look for a raise on another RFA deal. As beloved as he is, it would be wise to capitalize on his value then. Nevermind the fact that money will already be tight, but his physical style of play doesn't lend itself to longevity (think Dan Girardi). Better to get what you can then before you pay too much for a declining asset.
If they trade Goodrow, they should only do so in a standard trade. Not one where they have to package him with major assets. Otherwise, the Buyout option makes more sense. Would prefer to keep him for another year, but the Cap Crunch is a harsh reality.
Miller isn't going anywhere. Especially if Goodrow gets moved, in which case, he gets a longer term Contract.
Lafreniere gets a Bridge deal. Everyone is looking to poach him now. Disappointing or not, there is no need to move a former 1OA as he comes off his ELC. Not for 50 cents on the dollar.
Tarasenko and Kane are both Out.</div></div>
I know Miller is staying, I was just pointing out if to trade someone it makes sense to trade the one which gives the best return.
Another point was it makes zero sense to trade Laffy because value is low.
If to keep Miller and Laffy I say they most likely need to move on from Goody.
