Put it this way. Would you rather have Mercer putting up 65-75 points average at 7 million for the next 8 or Willy peaking at 90 points and likely tapering off in the next few years paying 10 million +?

Did you watch Demko after he came back from injury?He was very solid. I'm not saying that he is winning a Vezina or anything but from what I saw he had the ability to steal games for them late last season.

Paying Demko just under 2 million more shouldn't be an issue. It's an big if too. I could see Vancouver getting a wildcard spot.

This is if Fitz isn't confident in VV going into another post season. Schmid took.the reins in the first round last year after Vitek never seemed ready .

Who's panicking? This is open discussion. Would this improve our team in the sense that we add another good defensive forward? N. Foote can possibly be that. Who knows. But panicking? Not sure why you would think that.

Yeah, I'm still pretty indifferent about Hellebuyck. The future contract keeps me from saying that it's a great idea. I could live with VV/ Schmid.

I see fair value. I just wouldn't do it from a NJ standpoint. Losing a stud D man would set us back more so than I think adding Nylander. The money seems fair for the contracts going forward. Overall not a bad trade for both side

I agree with you on Haula. But,we know that Jack doesn't take face offs or say is successful in his work in the circle which is why I'm reluctant to move Haula to the 3rd line.

Yea. There is a pick I included. There is more risk on the Devils side than LA so I added a pick. I really think LA maybe has a developmentally problem. I can't see why a kid who was widely considered to be a top 3 selection and almost no holes in his game could be this underwhelming.

Means, he should be treated with the same respect that they give Marner, Matthews. Why should Nylander bend? He keeps pace with those two and performs yet when he asks for a number similar to those guys leafs fans balk at the idea?

Agreed, but someone will likely get injured which is why the depth would be nice. Not sure what we could add anywhere else. Slim picking to find D depth and the goalie market us a risky business
