Bottoming out in 2018-19 so we can hopefully progress in 2019- 20. (Part 1)
Hawks aren't trading Seabrook. Multiple people not only in hockey ops have stated this. He will retire a Hawk. Other two trades are way too lopsided to the hawks. No chance STL or WIN accept those offers. Rutta brings back a low 3rd round at best and AA nothing more than a 2nd at best. He's not cost controlled, he's an expensive 3rd line center

I would be more than happy if that was the case. Just feels like it'll cost a lot more. And then the Hawks have another hole to fill if they trade AA. Too many holes and not enough assets right now for the Hawks

They basically just got cap space for next year to pay Debrincat and Schmaltz and maybe go after Panarin in FA. There is no tradable assets the hawks will move to get a top line winger or top 4 foward without giving up another piece of the current roster that is already bleak.</div></div>
Sadly I agree :(

Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MG1986</b></div><div>What with Hawks fans suddenly targeting Nylander all of a sudden? There are plenty of other good young RFAs out there, not to mention Max Pacioretty, who would fit nicely in Chicago but would be hard to resign due to their cap issues. If the Hawks want Nylander that bad, it is going to cost them Adam Boqvist, Nick Schmaltz and their 2019 1st rounder. Murphy really brings no value to do the table other than he is a RHD defenseman and would really be a pure cap dump for Chicago. I don't think the Leafs would bite on his contract though.</div></div>
You're smoking some funky stuff if you think Nylander is worth half of Boqvist Schmaltz and a first (that could end up being a high pick).

Contender for sure. Stan has a couple tricks up his sleeves and these are good depth moves. Not a cup winning team yet, but if crows healthy this is a playoff team

true. But players always get more than they should in free agency. I would hate for the hawks to spend 2.8 on him, but I think it'll be around 2.2 which is reasonable for one year. But I would hate giving him more than one year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Cam Ward will sign for under $2M.
De Haan will cost closer or above $4M especially on only 3 years, and would be a bad signing. John Moore or Hickey will be cheaper and better fits for the hawks.
I agree though, starting to think Stan doesn't do much besides Ward, a veteran D guy, and trade Hossa.</div></div>
Cam absolutely will get over 2 mil. It's a good market for him right now. The athletic (the best sports subscription you could ever ask for), has him projected to get 2.8 for one year. Don't think teams will want to offer him two or three years, hence a higher salary for the one season

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>You are over the cap with bonuses so this can't work

Calvin De Haan will get a little more.
The front lines are a disaster. Kane plays on the right side...nobody is changing that. JVR is on the left.Sikura and Hayden play on the right.</div></div>
You can be over the cap with bonuses. The Hawks have been over with bones for like three years in a row. It carries over to next years cap hit, hence the "other" dollar term.

way too much to give up for Panarin. no way they bring bouma back, they sent him down to the minors where he finished the season, more likely they bring back Wingles

No shot CAR does that trade. They're taking on too much salary, salary thats not very good. AA is far from the best third line center in the NHL. CAR's not giving up on Darling yet, they're giving him another year, they've said this publicly.

Bowman, why?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickC1988</b></div><div>No that doesn't make Crosby a bad center because 51% is a really good percentage. Wahlstrom's speed combined with his shot makes his ceiling sky high. He looks just like Phil Kessel. Elite skater, elite shot, underrated passer. It's not everyday where you get a chance to get a pure sniper at no cost... Defensemen are a dime a dozen in the free agent market.</div></div>
I have to completely disagree that defensemen are a dime a dozen in FA. Theres no top pair Dman on the market besides Carlson. Theres plenty of guys who can score on the market. Also, Wahlstrom's shot is elite no question, but his skatings not elite, according to scouts at least. Good, but not elite.

Bowman, why?
Pokka never got a shot because he's just not good. at all. As we are seeing from this draft, teams are valuing Dmen really high. I guarantee the Hawks use some of there D prospects in trades. And Schmaltz is a stud. Can we just get over the face-offs please. He'll be league average (and I'll mention again face-offs are overrated, NHL teams understand this). Hell Crosby is 51% in his career, does that make him a bad center? Anyways, I agree they don't have any offensive prospects in the system. But they're looking good on offense on the big league club in my opinion. I think they'll go after a top six forward to add to what they already have. Finally, I don't think Wahlstrom will be elite. I think he'll be a good player, probably top 6 forward, but the hawks are pretty much set in the top 6 if they add a guy like I think they will

So much to give up for a player with no guarantee he signs long term. Even if he does, it's still a **** load to trade. Also Don't expect OTT to retain all the salary. And finally, the Hawks don't want to trade Seabs, and quite frankly, no one wants his contract, on top of his no trade clause

Big Buff-alo deal
I feel like you really hate Schmaltz. He's a future core member and hopefully career Hawk. Two first round picks on top off all the other players.....it's just a ridiculous amount to give up. Schmaltz will be better than OR in a year, book it. "But face-offs blah blah...." Face-offs are so overrated.

Crawford gone....BUF trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Goalie is the most important position on the ice. Nobody will argue that. Crawford has consistently performed as a top 10 goalie and top 5 more recently beyond a questionable defense. You really think ROR is more valuable then Crawford? Suggesting a #2 pick is more valuable then Crawford is laughable at best....probably your worst comment yet among a lot of bad one's you historically make.</div></div>
To be fair, Crawford might not be enough for the first pick in the second round right now because of his health. No one knows anything about his health, which is scary. With that said, he is a top five goal in the world, and I don't think the Hawks should trade him if he's healthy. I'd be interested in trying to buy low on him if I'm another team, but I wouldn't be willing to pay full price, hence why I think the Hawks are best keeping him and hoping for the best

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Why I think the Hawks would do it is in the details. Pick #27 alone won't be worth Pick #41 AND #43. That's really not that far off and this is a very deep draft. So to sweeten that deal I'd include Forsling...BUT now I would agree that's too much to send to NYI, so Nalimov wants out...hence why I include the 2019 2nd to even out the deal.</div></div>
i guess. But i'd like to see the hawks keep Forsling
