Next Year with No Ridiculous Blow Ups or Rantanen Trades
He'll be eligible to come back about a month into the season, so say roughly 15% of his cap hit is off the books. So you'd need around 5 million to bring him back.

I agree Minn probably isn't on his list of teams, but he might do well on a line with Kaprizov. Move the trade to July and make it a 2025 pick, and some team could retain on Marner for like a 3rd, then next year the 14 million in dead cap comes off their books so they could resign him. Hartman agreeing to waive is another problem too though.

The trade happens july 1st so marners bonus is paid, your words. So how do we trade a pick that's already been used?

I love how the trade happens after the draft, but we still send you a 2024 pick.

That's a pretty easy no for the Flames. Weegars better then graves, and I'd rather keep the younger and highly skilled Kuzmenko over Rust.

I'd just keep the picks and take the BPA at 9th, hopefully one of the top 5 defenseman. If anything I'd be trying to trade up into the 18 to 22 range to take one of the 3rd tier centers.

But he either successfully completes rehab and comes back or he violates again, which I assume would probably mean he can be terminated.</div></div>
I agree there's probably some way to terminate his contract, but like you said in another post was teams were only able to do it because of legal charges, and I doubt a positive drug test is going to lead to that.

I don't think the league is gonna make Colorado eat his contract because he can't get his addiction together.</div></div>
He should be eligible to play again in mid October, but the rules in the CBA state that a suspended player counts against the cap.

I was thinking more along the lines of Colorados 2025 1st and nichushkin for future considerations. Or just no pick and future considerations at best. They were going to be in cap hell next season, his 6 million in dead cap is going to kill them.

Yakemchuk has plenty of time to fill out just like those two did. The difference is when he's in his 20's he'll almost certainly be well over 200 lbs.</div></div>
Actually mangiapane has lost 1 pound since he's been drafted and coronato has put on 1. Mangiapane showed a lot of grit but it has kind of disappeared the last few seasons, and coronato was showing a lot towards the end of the season. I agree we don't want a team like the Sabres, but mixing a few smaller skilled guys in wont hurt. I agree as I've noted the average size of the players Conroy has brought in is just under 6'2, but he also added a few smaller skilled guys.

Sure you can keep drafting all these little guys based on who put up the most points in junior and be like the Sabres... The pundits keep ranking your prospect system the best in the league but you still can't even make the playoffs after years and years of rebuilding.
Size does matter. You can have lots of skill but if you don't have size and grit too (not just in the bottom 6 / on the bottom pair either) you'll get intimidated, pushed around and never go very far in the playoffs.</div></div>
Coronato and Mangiapane may be a little shorter then the average NHLer, but they're both built like brick **** houses. They both come in around 185 pounds, yakemchuk is 6'3 and only 8 pounds heavier. The difference with buffalo is all their pospects are 5'9-5'11 and weigh 160 pounds
