Is it? He will be lucky if he cracks 50 once he gets hurt again. Calgary did the same thing with Monahan in order to sign Kadri. Mony is still a 60 point player when he plays healthy.

Vancouver cannot afford to take cap back if they want any chance at signing Horvat or Kuzmenko. Brocks value is low and his contract is expensive.

Really? Do you realize Horvat in on pace for 50 goals or more. If he keeps pace Horvat will fetch over 9 million per on the open market in the summer. As for Colorado's cap situation, Erick Johnson and a few others are coming off the books. Sakic could make it work. Colorado's top six would be set for 6 years.

Calgary would move him for Robertson. Coronato might not sign with us and could re-enter the draft this summer or have his rights traded.

Two of those prospects crack the top 100 and Zary is barely cracking it. The Flames draft middle of the pack every year, their system shows that.
There's a difference between being a fan and just blowing smoke about valuing the Flames players.</div></div>
Middle of the pack every year? I guess you forgot about Tkachuk, Bennett and Monahan? But who are they?

Not quite enough. It starts with Coronato and Dallas will not want Colemans contract for another 5 years. They are rebuilding.

BIG trade with Dallas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yycofred</b></div><div>Toffoli has not been good, you're not getting the return that the Flames gave up for him in a deal. Moving Tanev could be the worst possible move the Flames could make. Robertson is great, he makes the Flames better up front at the expense of gutting their already thin cupboards and losing very good players for pennies on the dollar over the next couple years. It's a move that would look really bad in 2 - 3 seasons. Flames have no talent coming up the system that they could plug and play when guys start walking.</div></div>
So maybe you only get a second for Toffoli and I love Tanev but say he does not want to resign and if he does, then keep him and move Weegar for a first and a good prospect at the deadline because his value is through the roof. That way, you could recoupe one of the lost firsts and a prospect. Calgary still has Zary Schwint and Ruzika in the system too don't forget. On D they have Mackey and Valimaki who are pretty much NHL ready. The flames want to win now.

You said above that shedding Lucic and Dube, that's nearly 8 million so you're still short on a Robertson contract without re signing anyone.</div></div>
Or how about Tanev or Toffoli or both for picks? So your top six would be Huberdeau, Lindholm, Robertson, Kadri, Magiapane and Coleman. Pretty good eh.

First he's on 3.25m contract and even if he leaves as UFA...his position has be filled by another player which cost $$$$. Yea maybe Toffoli could be moved...but his return would be very little, just like 7m Pacioritty who actually cost Vegas assets to move. 4.5m Tanev has M NTC....he can easily block any trade to a team (poor) team that has cap .</div></div>
We traded a first round pick to get Toffoli not that long ago so his value is still decent. Weegar is going to command nearly 8 million a season which is why Calgary has not signed him yet. Tanev would waive his M NTC to a rebuilding team who might give him a nice extention. You can give Kylington Weegars minutes and play Stone or Mackey and maybe Valimaki full time in 23/24 all on cheap contracts. Robertson is a 23 year old point a game player who is three years away from his prime. Calgary says yes

Uh yeah so you maybe do not sign weegar- 3.5 mil free right there for 23/24. Move toffoli for picks another 4 million ish right there for 23/24 or trade tanev- another 4 million there. Lots of depth on D and lots of options

The flames can worry about that next summer. Move Backlund or trade Valimaki or move Weegar at the deadline. Lots of time to figure that out over the next 12 months.
