Sabres can’t afford to bring in a guy like Konecny who will need a big extension moving forward

It's cherry picked data, a small sample size, and the 11th pick in the draft is comparable to at least the 10th and 12th picks (maybe further). Additionally, at the bare minimum it's correlation and not causation because there are dozens of other factors such as team, GM, Development process, Injury, ECT... This is why the draft pick success models evaluate a range of picks 1-5, 6-15, and 16-32 because the variants are to broad to narrow to a single pick location over an arbitrary 20 year period.

Not only do you screw BUF with the trade, you also proceed to overpay Bryson and Comrie by more than 1mil each. Unwise.

Um, yeah…. are u sure you’re really a Sabres fan ?
Cozens is basically an untouchable “core” member of the team
The Byram for Carlo swap would make sense for the Sabres,
but not for Boston- they’d be looking for a RD2 if they did that
The rest of your trade doesn’t make sense at all for Buffalo, but the Bruins would do it in a heartbeat
Overall, it just doesn’t make much sense

I doubt Drury is the center to get moved. Can play up in a pinch, solid bottom 6 C and will be the cheapest of the centers we have which might be important depending on who they extend. Will likely look to dump a more expensive center but doubt you guys would be interested.

I get that. But Quinn missed more then half of year. Samuelson missed half the year. I get injuries happen but with Peterka Quinn Byram all needing new contracts after next season it is hard to make big splashes on guys unless it is for only this year. Skinner is a big move too. KA has lot of decisions to make.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>The Jets aren't taking a cap dump back in an Ehlers trade.</div></div>
It's so funny when it is put like that.
Over the past 3 seasons:
5v5:
Iafollo + Ehlers ($10mm cap hit):
Ehlers 49 62 111
Iafollo 26 41 67
Combined: 75 103 178
Skinner ($9mm): 65G (t-13) 70A 135P (20th)
Player X: 10G 33A 43P
You just need "Player X" on a $1mm or less to get you 10G 33A over 3 seasons to be the same.
WPG should do the trade (get BUF to retain $2mm).
I see some crazy Skinner trades on here while he's one of the best players in the league. Cap hit too high? Yes. But he has value.
No way should our 2024 pick be included here. That's just bad.
And as the Cap rises, Skinner's cap hit will start looking less and less bad. Only 12 players have scored more 5v5 goals over the past 3 seasons combined.

I'm not too sure of Hronek's value, he's been invisible for the second half of the season and the playoffs.
Even as a mainstay next to hughes he hasn't been producing at all and imo it would be a huge mistake for the nucks to pay him.
What do you think he's worth?

This board will be pure entertainment when the leafs trade Marner for a 2025 first and a prospect OR when they hold on to him to start the year because no team wants to take on his cap hit.
