Why would the Sabres do that? Ryan Johnson is much better than Barron, Dvorak is a boat anchor with an atrocious cap hit

Quinn only made the playoffs as a 16 and 17 year old, at 16 he had 2 games and then produced 7 pts in 18 playoff games as a 17 year old. Then put up 89pts in 62 games as an 18 year old, which mathematically is very over a point per game. And 70 points in 60 games in the A is also over a point per game in the minors, which is the exact opposite of your claim

Sabres can do infinitely better than Pageau at 3c. The Sabres reddit derived Byram hate is insane as well. Joshua isnt taking a discount and you traded away one of the dmen that actually hits and blocked all the prospects

Doesnt need a pass oriented center, as Joe said, Skinner was able to open up space for and then feed Tage and had himself his best year with helpers. He needs a skilled center, hes not going to elevate a bottom 6 guy

Most of the stuff I hear is good- appert was training him to be a professional athlete- working out to add muscle, and resting to recover properly, and appert was reasonable about his ceiling being a middle 6 winger, stressing that he was gonna have to back check and kill penalties too. The bad is that he just finished his D+3 year, he's not a point per game player in the ahl, and from what I heard, both Rosen and kulich disappeared in the ahl playoffs against a bigger team that leaned on them. I don't have the list of guys adams could've taken at 14 in front of me, but I remember Cossa and wellstedt went soon after Rosen (not that I want to draft goalies in round 1) and Wyatt johnson went somewhere in the 20s. It just feels like- you couldn't find a guy like Rosen in the 3rd or 4th round?</div></div>
3rd or 4th round no way. Rosen performed in the playoffs, Kulich definitely disappeared

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>Ugh. I know Rosen was the first undersized forward that adams drafted, so this could have been a one-off pick. I guess I don't understand the logic behind drafting an undersized forward with a prime pick, if that player doesn't project to be a 30 goal or point per game player. So now, a few years have gone by, he's developing fine, looks to be a perfectly uninspired, but reasonable option for your middle 6. Nobody is clamoring for that player, and nobody wants to give you anything meaningful for the player, or even assign his value close to the 14th overall where he was taken. It's like- you couldn't reach on a big center or right shot d instead?</div></div>
Rosen is extremely undervalued. Insanely undervalued. Hes a complete middle 6 forward that has often looked better than Kulich, especially in the p offs. If they didnt have Quinn hed be in the lineup.

I didnt say UPL was franchise altering. 2 franchise altering goaltenders cost way to much aagainst the cap. 1 and a decent cheap starter like UPL is the perfect pairing, which is why i want tgem to sign upl long term

You can be bias towards Skinner just as I can be bias toward Jones, but at least he's consistent. $9M for a guy (yes you retained above which seems odd because we can all admit he's a cap dump...so just do it) that you don't know what you're getting...because he was that way in Carolina too! He could scores 33, but he could also score 13, or 18, or 20. The ONLY way I take Skinner off your hands is the #11 OA. His contract is that bad. And elite shouldn't be used for him anymore either...probably shouldn't have never been used for him to begin with to be honest.</div></div>
If the Hawks bury him on the 4th line and give him 10 minutes a game like Krueger did that might happen, dont see a scenario, especially on that Hawks team, why they would do that. Hes not a cap dump. Thats asinine, the Sabres need to play Kulich and they arent putting him on the 4th line, "Kruegering" him as mentioned before. Nor are the Sabres desperate for cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div><strong>The wild take is to think that any team that is looking to win the Cup is going to look to acquire a rookie goaltender who has played 3 NHL games to do so. I don't care that he has franchise potential.</strong> Even worse is to think that they are going to move significant roster players to do so. Whether NSH would move Askarov + for Marner is completely irrelevant to that point. <strong>I'm sure you're not sitting at home hoping that KA deals Savoie+ for Askarov and he's not even on your main roster.</strong> Quite frankly, I don't think any fan on CF is hoping that their GM is going to trade for Askarov to be their starter or play in tandem with another inexperienced goalie. I could be wrong though about the fans, <strong>maybe you should make an ACGM with Savoie + UPL for Askarov + and see how well it is received-the value of the trade is irrelevant.</strong> No reason to think an NHL executive is going to splurge on him in hopes that he's going to be an instant difference-maker. Maybe Vegas would do something like this if they could but they aren't moving any major roster pieces (save a goalie) to do so.
As for Woll, playing one 1st RD, that's beside the point, I'm not acting like he's experienced. You said he's good enough to lose in the 1st round, so I pointed out that he's undefeated. He also didn't get swept in the 2nd round either. Regardless, Woll has been pretty good (in the 40-odd games that he played), but has struggled to stay healthy and is still inexperienced. Askarov isn't the guy that the Leafs need to pair with him.
The only team that it would make any sense for them to bet on Askarov that is looking to compete is NSH if they look cash in on Saros (as of now they are looking to extend him), but even they will go out and get someone with experience to play with him.</div></div>

Chew before you swallow. Worry about winning a round before the cup.

Sabres have Levi who has similar potential to Askarov with similar experience and will be in the NHL next year as will Askarov, and UPL who was one of the best in the league this year, we dont have to worry about goaltending. Toronto hasnt had a good goalie since who, Belfour?

Skinner is a 35-40 goal scorer with Bedard. Doesnt matter his age, hes an elite finisher, when paired with an elite center he still scores. With Chicago hed be their best winger for those 3 years unless they over pay a UFA or trade assets for someone else, both things rebuilding teams generally dont do. They get 2 NHL forwards, one on his ELC thats already been fully developed
