Chevys Classic TDL Swerve
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyFan989</b></div><div>Perfetti isn’t even a year away from being drafted, in a non covid world he’ll be tearing up the OHL, usually prospects start in the AHL at 20 and he’s less NHL ready then his peers
So I’m completely happy he’s keeping up and putting up points
As for the trade wouldn’t do Jones for Perfetti one on one</div></div>
Many thought he'd go 4th overall, some thought he might be able to make the team this year, he had a quiet World Junior Tournament, might take him a bit longer to make the Jets then originally thought, the Jets are in a cup window now, if Perfetti could land Jones they'd have to at least consider it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shoresy69</b></div><div>Jones has never had the opportunity to play behind 12 forwards like the jets have right now... he would be an absolute stud moving the puck behind that group...
We have arguably one of the 2 or three best goaltenders in the world right now... dont waste that by waiting for perfetti to be ready to lead us.
why worry about injuries or production dipping at this point, its not a problem until it is... of course upsets happen nothing is guaranteed but you give yourself the best chance to win period, especially with that forward group and that goaltender, do not waste this opportunity, could it blow up in your face sure, there are no guarantees... perfetti could get a concussion before he ever plays an nhl game and never play hockey again... no one can predict the future... what Chevy does know is that he has a window right now that most teams would kill for... go for it now
cutting our own throat by sacrificing our future? we've been patiently drafting and developing for a decade to get an opportunity like this... and its not like our core is old there is plenty of time to replace any prospect we have our system.
Would you really care if Stanley and Perfetti go on to have Hall of Fame careers for columbus if we win a stanley cup this year? i wouldn't... and again just so we're clear i'm not saying its a lock we win the stanley cup it never is but you take your best shot when you have the chance</div></div>
Check out Perfetti's numbers in the AHL, only two of his points have come at even strength, won't be surprised if he isn't a Jet till the 22-23 season, if he could be cashed in for Jones Chevy would have to consider it .

Funny I started a Jones to Winnipeg trade today.. Lol
Haven't posted it yet, not sure if I will or not, mine is a bit more generous from the Jets then this one is though, don't think my fellow Jets fans would like it but it's probably what it'd take for Columbus to even consider parting with Jones.

Not enough for Oleksiak. Fair value is a 2nd & mid-level prospect

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shoresy69</b></div><div>read above they arent retaining any salary and i think if they would have to at least consider a package like that whether more needs to be added or what they feel, they have to at least consider it imo... question is whether Jones would agree to go to winnipeg</div></div>
Jets need this, would be tough to possibly only have Jones for 1.5 years, but I’m sure he would come to town for that at least, his dad was a journeyman nba player, so probably taught his son to be a pro at a early age. Tough thing will be if the Jets can’t come up with or not willing to ante up the 8x 9 plus for him longterm or if he has a specific city in mind for ufa. But with a flat cap, wpg should have a fair shot if it’s money related. Seattle with cap room a year into existence may have something to say though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shoresy69</b></div><div>He needs to add either a #1 RD or two top four D one right and one left if he wants to really go for it which i think im clear that he absolutely should...
my preference for option 2 is ekholm savard as they are exactly what we need.... but i am kind of hoping chevy might be patiently waiting for deadline day and go big game hunting haha ....highly unlikely but if cbj made jones available and i dont think thats out of the question...im all in... there is no such thing as an untouchable prospect...especially when youre as close as the jets might be</div></div>
For sure. I 100% agree. However, Jones’ political views probably don’t line up with the jets locker room so I would be very cautious with that.
I agree though, a number rd is most important. The jets need a stable partner for JoMo. However, if we can get ekholm, he becomes priority number 1. Adding him completely changes the jets dynamic.
That said, I don’t think a number 1 rd is completely necessary. I think if we can add another number 3 and a shutdown guy, both with size, we have one of the best d-cores in the league.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shoresy69</b></div><div>There is no way Chevy regrets that vegas expansion trade... it allowed him to keep his top four D together and we were in the conference final that same season.
Collecting prospects are nice, winning championships is better. Both of the proposed trades above are absolute no brainers, you lose nothing from your line up and you get the two best D available. I like Vesalainen too and believe there is still a good upside there, but that top four D above is worth a whole lot more.
Worry about the expansion draft at the end of the season, but it would be alot easier to deal with the ED fallout with a banner in the rafters i assure you :-)
This North Division is ripe for the Jets taking right now....Toronto has a brewing goaltending issue and they dont scare me, I refuse to believe that with that D-corps McDavid could single handedly beat us in a 7 game series, Habs cant compete at this stage with our center depth and Cgy is an absolute mess... the time is now, that top four D puts us ahead of everyone else, Hellebuyck looks like he might be on the cusp of going supernova here based on his last few games, you surround him with that D and our top 9 and lookout</div></div>
MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!! If I could give this post 10 likes I would lol.
Also, we know chevy will be doing at least one of these, he always has before a playoff run. And with some of the better guys on the market too in stastny and Hayes. He’s going to go for it again. It’s just a matter of who and maybe when (though tdl day is chevys style).
Also it’s a matter of how much, like will he add just one of ekholm/Manson/savard/ristolainen and quit there, or will he add 2 top 4 d? I’d think he goes for 1 of the big guys in ekholm or ristolainen and then wraps it up with a lower cost one like hamonic. That’s just seems like something chevy would do

lines with PLd
I see absolutely no reason to separate Ehlers and Stastny or Scheifele and Wheeler unnecessarily. In a perfect world, the Jets could find a connection between Connor and Dubois and the Jets could roll 4 dangerous lines with:
LW - Scheifele - Wheeler
Connor - Dubois - RW
LW - Stastny - Ehlers
Copp - Lowry - RW
Harkins, Perreault, Appleton, Lewis and hopefully soon Perfetti and Vesalainen would fill out the lines. The hardest part would be to find enough minutes for everyone.
