Time to rebuild, maybe it's the contract situations drivingmaybe it isn't.

We deserve better and this core is not gonna do it.
Bring back Dubas and go full on rebuild.</div></div>

Keefe hasn't done or been able to alter his gameplan throughout a game to this point in his NHL coaching career not just this sieries

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>I think that's very unfair. They have similarities to TO as well. They had Pittsburgh who was just better to go through. I don't think they could have won more. This year should be ours, Boston, Tampa, Colorado are all out. Carolina is super hurt. But our coach sucks and never changes anything beyond throwing guys on different lines.</div></div>
I think it's fair but might have been taken out of context. I'm not disrespecting Wash just saying they should have accomplished more with their core players. Every team has similarities, the difference is it didn't take the caps 6 years to make it out of the first round. Also, if Pitt was better as you claim wouldn't that be reason to adjust when they couldn't win at that point? This year and the all Canadian division are 2 blown opportunities by this core. I would also say Boston's core has failed with only winning 1 cup with them.
Agree about the coach but the blame needs to go around and nobody should get a free pass. Nick Nurse was such an effective coach he would tell the media his gameplan before the game because he knew he could adjust throughout the game, Sheldon Keefe does not and has not to this point in his coaching career been able to do that.

He's been better than Keefe and that's all that really matters at this point. I give Florida credit for wanting it more and they got on a hot streak at the right time but this group and coaching staff have been disappointing to this point.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>I am not sure that's the right word to use. I think they do what their coach wants and their coach is too stubborn to change anything. I said it after game 1 when Keefe acted like it was all good, we played well enough to win bla bla bla bla. That scared me because it showed me he learned nothing from the loss and then game 2 reinforced it when he again did nothing because they deserved to win. He's just not a playoff coach. He may become one someday but we can't wait on him to learn.
Hire whoever wins the memorial cup.</div></div>
What word? I think it's the opposite I think they don't respect Keefe enough to care what he says. This team needs a coach who commands respect. IMO Trotz would have been the best option but that's a no go at this point. We need to see who becomes available in the offseason first but I don't think bringing in another rookie coach is the way to go.

Nylanders the only guy doing at least something but even thats not enough
They bat one goal and start producing there could still be a series. As if its been this close score wise with no big 4 scoring imagine they get going.
But hes the scapegoat for the fans lul</div></div>
Yes this team needs to wake up and need to share the blame 💯 but Keefe is not nore has he been the a good enough coach to take a team to the cup, especially one as talented as this one is.
There's no sieries this team has blown it. Or another way to put it is what makes you think this team could win the sieries at this point?
Do you think Keefe shouldn't share the blame for how this year has transpired? Do you view this as a success? This is now the 2nd opportunity this team has had an easier path to the cup and have not taken it.

Washington should have absolutely won more than 1 cup with that core including arguably the best goal scorer of all time. How anyone can view Washington's success during the Ovi era as anything other than a failure is beyond me and they absolutely should have adjusted earlier.
We know the results with them keeping their core intact but how can you argue they couldn't have won more if they adjusted more rather than keeping the course?

That used to be a huge criticism of the Leafs in the playoffs as well. Can't wait to watch them in round 2!</div></div>
Rielly should have been the captain IMO although, all great options. IMO the big boys have been able to put up points because we finally have a solid 3rd line making it tougher forthe opposition to shutdown our top 2 lines. Same here GLG!!!

I was really worried about Samsonov heading into the game but man!! He was solid, actually more than solid, I have to admit, he has to be series MVP. Without him the Leafs don't win.
So happy for alot of people right now. Matthew Knies, man this kid!! He did alot of little things that were big time all game long but especially on that game winner.
A special shoutout to Liliejgren, Gustafsson and Bunting just because it's not easy at all to be sitting healthy and not playing (especially 2 weeks!!) but then having asked to come in and play mistake free and be difference makers in different ways.
Morgan Rielly was incredible in this series and please, give me MORE OF THAT going forward.
I'm happy for guys here as well, it's tough being a Leafs fan but not right ****ing now!! 😎</div></div>
Rielly was the sieries MVP IMO... guy's been in absolute beast mode last year's playoffs (remember when he fought 2 guys last year, 1 right after the other) and again this year. I agree sammy was spectacular when we needed him and he certainly was the better goalie in the sieries which isn't easy to do when going up against Vas.
