That is probably also true. But at least he can trick himself that the team might. But I get the point you making.

I think the Sharks would like a first for Granlund alone; or definitely a first for him and a third.
Bourgalt and Lavoie aren't terrible, but are the kind of prospects every team has half-a-dozen of.

This Habs fan is happy. Catton is elite. I don't care he's 5'11 and people want size. His offensive production, on a team that had no support, was incredible. Since the 21st century, the only draft-eligible players to post 50+ goals and 115+points are Crosby, Kane, Bedard, and Catton
.
He is legit

SJ 2024 Sign 2 Top 4 RDmen Trade with NYI for Lee Sign Henrique to a 1yr Deal
It's not super likely Sharks are able to sign either Pesce or Roy. If they do I think it would be one or the other, not both.
Benning has been injured for so long that I think we Sharks fans forget that he was an excellent middle paring guy. I think a guy like Chatfield would be more likely if they do want to move on from him.
Personally i'd be more interested in someone like Stephenson than Henrique

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>what more problems does it create? Idk a whole lot about either of your guys teams, but you guys get a haul for a guy you realistically can't pay for
That haul being a guy with 2c potential who you can sign to a short cheap bridge deal, and dowd who can still play 3c. and not to mention a first round pick lol</div></div>
we can pay for middelstadt. The Avs would not have traded for him if this was not the case.
2C is among the hardest positions to acquire if you don't have a good one in your system. The Avs have struggled at it for 2 years until Mitts showed up. They aren't going to spend another second on "maybe this player can do it". Avs don't have time for "potential".
It doesn't matter if a deal is "fair" or not. We can create "fair" deals for Matthews, McDavid and Mackinnon on this site. But that doesn't mean teams should accept them.

This all makes sense, buy I've seen a lot of posts in which Habs fans are willing to pay to dump Anderson.
As a Sharks fan, I think I'd rather trade for Anderson than Gallagher, because the Sharks need to get bigger.

Gallagher Dump
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sjbackseatgm</b></div><div>Knew it was unrealistic but felt creative this morning. How is the fair value from a pure dump perspective here?</div></div>
The value is more than fair, but it just doesn't make sense from MTL's perspective because they don't need the cap space. Gallagher also has a NMC which complicates things, he might be too prideful to go to the early rebuild in SJ no offense. I think this could be revisited in 2 years though, either Anderson or Gallagher are candidates to dump when MTL decides the timing makes sense.

2. They can clear cap space in other ways. Ways that return assets.</div></div>
Teams always need centers, but Pageau is not going to improve a team like he should at a 5m cap hit,
also a team isn't going to just help NYI and eat 5m for 2 years for an meh 3C at best lol
How else can they really clear cap? I guess they could move Anders Lee, but he will cost a 2nd+ at a 7m cap hit
It's not like they are going to move their core players to clear cap, as they are trying to compete, so therefore moving a player like Pageau for a 2nd makes sense

Hard to say, going by the Toronto - Marleau dump, seems fair. But we also havent seen anything like that recently.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sjbackseatgm</b></div><div>Sure, but what if they did due to other potential moves?</div></div>
The odds that the other potential moves would necessitate that are incredibly small, and the odds such moves wouldn't involve those picks is even smaller.
Like, I can spin it back with Montreal taking on Vlasic's contract if San Jose gives them Pittsburgh's 1st+, but its just not realistic.

To add, we have plenty of capspace, and only one Cap Retention left this year, so i dont think we could even take advantage of any capspace we free up.
