IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER!

Some wondering if Risto extension opens the door to a Travis Sanheim trade either before the deadline or in the offseason. "Gm's are intelligent, they have analytics department, nobody will ever give a 1st round pick for Ben Chiarot" and then I see this signing proving me that all gm's aren't intelligent.

Not really a great deal for Chicago.
Maatta is a decent player.
They retained 750k for two seasons. That's basically what the cap hit would have been for four years if they had bought him out. So that's the reasoning. This is better than a buyout.
That said, he's decent and they have much bigger issues on the team.
