Why though? I don't understand why they'd sign a 18 year old 4th round pick straight out the draft

Of all players that played more than 500 minutes in the past 3 seasons, he's got the 2nd worst Expected Goals against rate per 60 minutes of all defensemen at 5v5

I don't care where he was selected. He didn't drive offense nor did he play particularly well defensively. You can get that type of player anywhere in free agency.

Prediction for tomorrow
in one off-season, for no reason, 25 year old Drouin is now a first line player even though he's played most of his career sheltered on the third line.

Juulsen is a not-so-good AHL player that is weirdly idolized by habs fans for absolutely no reason.
Good option if there's a lot of injuries, but overall, he shouldn't play in the NHL as he's not good enough.

Great skater with no history of serious injuries... I see no problem with this.
He's still got 3 strong seasons in him and if he's bad for the 4th (which I doubt he will) then it will only be one bad year.

Gardiner was a good 3rd pairing d-man.
Edmundson was trash on every pairing. In fact, he found a way to make Slavin and Pesce bad when he played with them.

It definitely is time for Bergevin to go. Awful contract for an awful player and we payed a 5th round pick on top of it.

Haha, Laine's the league's leader in high danger chances against
I mean, I've read dumb **** on this website, but "Laine's the best defensive forward on his team" takes the cake

Maybe you don't watch the Habs. But this is like Shea Theodore+Alec Martinez+Alex Tuch for Laine
And frankly it's overpayment for a guy that solely scores off the rush and on the pp and does absolutely nothing else.
Put Domi with great finishers and playmakers like Scheifele and Wheeler and he'll get more than 70 pts easy.
