NYR 20-21 Version Trade Deadline 412
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skeating622</b></div><div>Fair enough, but he's also a cheaper buyout option than Stralman & FLA can still expose him in the expansion draft. So there is an administrative /Cap aspect to this deal as well, if they don't like what they see from TD.
If Q can reign him in & He plays his game ... He does have a ton of offensive talent, but you do need to shelter him on the defensive side to an extent. Quinn played him with the top line at even strength so hopefully the puck was in the other end most of the time he was on the ice.</div></div>
If this was 1 team ok 2 teams maybe 3 i see a clear pattern

NYR 20-21 Version Trade Deadline 412
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skeating622</b></div><div>Outside of the obvious issue with Georgiev, AD was actually really well liked by his teammates during his time with the NYR.
His issues were with the coaching staff, front office & anyone that challenged him on Twitter whether it be on ice or off ice opinions. He was definitely a distraction.
His next potential opportunity would stem from a situation like this, a potential need. I keep hearing a solid room with a strong Coaching presence would have kept TD in line at in FLA they got a GREAT Coach running that ship.. Who knows?
FLA just lost a RD that plays significant PP minutes (among a lot of other minutes), that's the one thing TD, a RD, was really good at . That's why this is the scenario that popped into my head.
Everyone loves a good old reclamation project, right?</div></div>

I’ve read it too. He still doesn’t create offense and is reliant on another playmaker if he does put up points. He should def be in the Selke discussion but he’s no where near a top 10 C in the league. He’s an important part of a winning team as a fantastic checking C that can help control possession but there at least 20 guys I would pick above him as a C.

Oof that’s a over pay for Strome. You could make the case for a 1st of you took some salary back for next year but I think a 2nd is probably what his market value is. No way is he worth a replacement player with team control, a B prospect, and a 2nd.
Might just be one of those cases where he’s worth more to NYR tha ln he is to other teams.

So the Club can keep the players from getting to that 30 days cumulative, by moving them back & forth to the TS until the games played aspect kicks in .</div></div>
Yep.

Waivers & the Tax Squad Question?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skeating622</b></div><div>Ok i get this:
<strong>A player does not need to pass through waivers if the player has not been on the NHL active roster for a cumulative 30 days since last clearing waivers, and has not played in 10 or more NHL games. CBA Reference 13.2(b)</strong>
So if you have a player that has cleared waivers, if they are on the Taxi Squad, those do NOT count as days on the NHL Active Roster ?
Example Keith Kincaid. He cleared waivers on 1/12/2021, placed on TAXI SQAD the same day.
He was added to the NHL active roster 10 different occasions & sent back to the TS, mostly without playing a game.
SO now he's been in 4 games & was sent back to the TS as recently as 3/14 & will likely be called back tonight 3/15 to start.
SO he's been on the NHL Active Roster for 15 days taking this back and forth into account so, until he get to that 30 days or hits the 10 game mark, no difference for goalies? Not games dressed? , it looks like he can continue to get moved to the TS on off days .... and basically anyone...?</div></div>
A player being on the taxi squad is treated as the exact same as if they were in the minors, with the exception of them physically travelling with the team. So no, if a player is on the taxi-squad they don’t accrue days towards waiver eligibility.
And yes, a goalie needs to actually play in a game (not just dress) for it to be counted as one of the 10 games.

Eichel to Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skeating622</b></div><div>Well that's not happening. Only a few teams will have the cap space & assets to get Eichel, his market isn't set by his abilities alone, Buffalo will need to deal, probably this summer or it will get stuck with a public trade demand & his value will take a hit on what teams are willing to give up.
Buf should listen to all offer & take the best one, but that (Kakko or laf along with Miller, lundqvist, Jones, Robertson and a 1st) but that wont be it.
Im guessing you don't mean 6 pieces including 4 defensemen?</div></div>
There’s supposed to be an or between the two sets of dmen

Do People Overvalue Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>You are right that Eichel is overvalued by posters here. They see his play and value him based off of that but fail to see the position the Sabres are in. Very few teams can take on a cap hit like Eichels, trading a 10 mil cap hit is near impossible regardless of who the player is. They like to say every team would offer on Eichel but really only 4 or 5 teams could make it work. The problem for Buffalo is that none of those teams are competing now or in the next season or two. Teams on the tail end of their rebuild arn't going to be trading big amounts of future top 6/top 4 pieces on ELCs for a 10 mil center who will be well into his 20s by the time they are ready to compete and has been a bit of an issue for the team.</div></div>
I agree, he's an amazing player, just overvalued by some people.

That's just not true man. Some do for sure, but you're getting Nico in his prime years while the Devils grow together as a team. Kreider will be paid 6.5 till he's 35, which are post prime years.
Zibanejad didnt hit 70 points until he was 25, he had 47 in when he was 22
Scheifle had 61 points at 22 and has been more than a point per game player since.
Nico has a ceiling, where as Kreider is on the back 9. Plus C's are more more valuable
