Run it back
Blais's Qualifying offer is 1.6 million & is likely what he signs for.
Kakko will get between 2.25 -2,85 on a backend loaded 2-3 bridge deal, hopefully before he's in the position to potentially sign an offer sheet.
2 million is too much for Motte , if Blais is back in the fold may also be a redundant move (& i like Motte)
May need to go to 5.3 or 5.5 for 5 or 6 years to get Copp.
Don't expect to see Othmann with the big club before say Will Cuylle, BO is just 19 & needs some more development & he's NOT AHL eligible so he may end up back in Flint or maybe the NL (Swiss League)
Id hope Drury can do better than Tokarski, maybe Kevin Lankinen on a 2 years deal for 800 K ...

Looks like its TBL's 2nd , so unless they really fall off in 2022/23 would be a later pick.

playoff time ideas read dsc
Yeah, Othmann may get a look in Hartford (AHL), as a loan, at the end of his OHL season but don't see him jumping to the NHL for the postseason.
Othmann is just 19 so he wont be eligible to play full time in the AHL next year either, so he's likely headed back to the OHL for another year or maybe Switzerland, hope they don't rush him to the NHL, that has not worked out at the forward position as of yet for the Rangers over the last 5 years.
Kreider was 20 turning 21 when he got signed & added to that 2012 postseason run after his BC season ended & was a more developed product than Othmann is now.
Gallant's a coach that is more comfortable with his veterans, especially in a playoff environment, id also expect more Nemeth/Braun for that same reason on the 3rd pair.
Doubt we see Kravtsov especially if Traktor keeps winning in the postseason but maybe .... they are down 2-1 in their semi-final playoff series.

Rangers All In Huge Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluspy88</b></div><div>I don't think that's what they were saying, they were saying who is your other top 6 RW now? Yes you upgraded one for Kane but you gave up one in Kakko. You will not win the cup with Julien Gauthier as your 1RW. I also personally think Kane would get more than that considering how bad Chytil has been so far</div></div>
In this albeit unlikely scenario, you move up D.Strome to 2C & R.Strome to2 RW (or flip them? & Move Kane to 1 RW.
You'd then gotta move M. Barron in that 3 C role at that point or move Goodrow over to 3C & Gauthier to 3 RW ...
If your getting a talent like Kane, some other players may be moved around ...
This is strictly for this season, there would obvious personnel moves in the offseason with the Cap what it is.
and CHI take 50% on both CdH & PK ...

You know very well that **** isn't true, even if it didn't really happen in 2021-22.</div></div>
In neither of those trades for Toffoli or Hall (to Boston) did a player that was top 10 pick OA or with Kravtsov's celling as a player go the other way & BOTH teams acquiring those players resigned them, so they weren't rentals.
The Hall trade by Arizona, as a true rental, was not so good for them in the longer term. If just for Dawson Mercer! They won a a qualifying round in the bubbles & didn't win an actual round in the playoffs... Thats a good trade?
NYR doesn't have the CAP space to resign Smith, so i stand on my original statement.

Kravstov reportedly said he'd play in the AHL for another team.
Kaut gives NYR the flexibility to send him to Hartford (AHL) but likely earn a call up this year.

Two way contracts only effect the salary at each level, those players would still need to clear waivers to play at the AHL level or even a Taxi Squad if there is one for 21/22.
Don't see guys like Bozak or AG playing in the AHL & there are only 23 active roster spots.

Everything your stating about LTIR is wrong. You can't just put someone on LTIR they actually have to be injured & that doesn't negate the need to account for Performance Bonus dollars.
The performance bonus issue isn't that big of a deal in this scenario, teams are allowed to exceed the cap by 7.5 % so 6,112,500 to accommodate performance Bonuses, so NYR would have to allocate for that difference of 2,287,5000 in real cap dollars.

Trouba & Kreider aren't going anywhere in the short term as a need for the team & those NMC's .
Look at their salary breakdowns over the next few years, the contracts were built with the possibility of moving them in years 3,4 & beyond.
Lets see what that ESPN money does for the cap over the next few years. NYR isn't looking to have 17 million in open cap & not make the team any better.

Rangers after Eichel trade
Thats more than the most recent of the reported ask from Buffalo for Eichel, (4) First round type pieces, thats 4 plus , & that was before the neck issue & the sell off from the Buffalo wasteland.
I think the trade market may see more Centers on it than originally thought, Gorton likely takes a full view of what's out there, see what Buffalo can net for Eichel, who the other suitors may be, & make an offer based on that ... i wouldn't go in at over the ask on the first pass.

Come one, we all know Eichel is never playing another game for the Sabres, he's being a good soldier & not formally requesting a trade ...yet.
Anaheim
LA
NYR
NJD
That's my guess for who lands JE, i think Buf would rather send him out West than downstate ..
NYR apparently made an offer before this season (no details of what that included) so we know Gorton is interested but i think they'd need to overpay, & by that i mean meet the current ask to get him.
If Stamkos or Larkin become available on the trade market for Centers, that will make it interesting.

DeAngleo has ZERO trade value, NYR would need to pay to have someone take them, no point with a 1/3 buyout & use him as an asset to expos in the expansion draft.
