Change in the Desert
Welcome to CapFriendly!
I'm really impressed! This is by far the best initial effort I've seen on CF.
As my esteemed colleague @tryger says, if the Kings are interested in Kessel (and RW is a weakness for us), then that's an entirely appropriate and acceptable package for him.
The Edmonton trade is right on value, but the Oilers can get rid of Neal simply by buying him out for $1,916,667 for each of the next four years and save the first-round draft pick. However, Kuemper is probably worth the first, so you should work on that kind of trade.
Minnesota adherents are fond of the Dumba-Schmaltz swap (straight up).
I've seen a lot of Boston posts lately speculating on an OEL-to-Beantown deal, some of which involved either DeBrusk or Vaakanainen. Despite the other comment, I think that the high retention would persuade Boston to take this offer.
Congratulations!

How is Lavoie brutal?? 45 points in 51 games in Allsvenskan, 10 in 19 games in the AHL... pretty good for a 20 year old. I have no idea where you get he's brutal

I'm more interested in how he played in the minor pro league in Sweden and he looked pretty good. Finding soft areas, good forecheck and decent shot. He definitely needs some time to use his body, get his compete level up a little, but he's far from brutal. Didn't look out of place against older, more experienced players.

No thanks. We are not trading Broberg for a guy like Killorn. Try Stalock and a 4th.

Let RNH walk and be more balanced
I always wonder why would EDM be able to empty half of the free agency. The finances aren't top notch, the location isn't exactly desirable and ultimately they aren't exactly successful either.
Sure they can probably land one or two UFAs and re-sign some of their own, but imo it's just unrealistic to think they's bring in 8 of the Top25 UFAs in the market.

I would agree, I don't see RNH sticking around. If he wants to be a C, there are places where he will be deployed as a top line C.
I don't see 6 of the Oilers 12 forwards being signed in free agency. I think they would like the young guys like Mcleod and Benson to have a chance to be every day players.
I think though that the Oilers could definitely sign Tatar, Getzlaf and Ullmark. I have a harder time seeing them signing Coleman, he's a Texan that plays in Florida. Unless Edmonton significantly overpays it might be tough to convince him to go up north. He's got a cup too, so he may choose his destination based on lifestyle.

Turns out they didn’t need the best player in the world in the end. Now they have 2 cups.
They should have but didn’t.

I get that certain users can be abrasive at times but it's not cool that you're openly 'sub-tweeting' about the guy on arguably the most popular thread at the moment. I'm not interested in handing out warnings/infractions over this, I think there's a good lesson to be learned here about remembering that we're all human. Every one of is is fallible. We all have biases, some worse than others. He - and everyone else here - has something to offer. Working with other users instead of using the anonymity of the internet to default to antagonistic at the first opportunity only helps us get better at this. It took me a while to quit being 100% snark and unwilling to adjust my opinions but I genuinely feel like I know more about the sport now that I have.
That said I do owe @smokingun71 an apology for being in an absolutely piss-poor mood regarding the Oilers over the past week. I didn't need to direct it at him or anyone else.
Peace boys.

Who do you want Oilers fans
I like Buchnevich, but who knows what the rangers want. From this one rangers fan he wants a first plus a B level prospect for him which is way too much. So if that’s true, then definitely someone like Tatar, or Saad, or DeBrusk. Those goalies I don’t like so either trade for one, or keep Koskinen and sign Reimer, or Rinne. I am hoping for Klefbom to be back next year honestly to play on our first or second pair. If he’s out then I would rather someone that can play second pair for a year. Martinez isn’t the worst option for cheep.

Time to challenge for the cup
I actually really like that deal. I was always proposing Broberg + 1st ++ for Gibson, but I think thats a really nice haul too.
You are never going to get the Ducks fanbase to like a deal for Gibson. Just like no fan base would propose a deal we would like for McDavid or Draisaitl.
Having said that, I do think that is really good value for a goalie.

Definitely agree! Please all remember that goalies don’t go for the same value as the other skaters on the teams. About half the value I would say, so therefore that would be enough, or maybe a small piece if they want more. Tatar, Coleman, and Reimer would bring more depth, to our team which is needed. Gibson is a top 3 goalie in the league right now in my opinion, on such a good deal long term! Rinne would also look good if Reimer gets taken before we can offer. Could offer Seth Jones, or Colton Parayko in free agency the year after to make us even deeper! I believe this is a legit cup contending team, and I would like to see them perform!
