Trading William Nylander For Fun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Bennett's "cap dump" (lol) is easily made up by Lindholm's fantastic contract.
Lindholm is already as good as Nylander offensively. Then you factor in Lindholm's a better center than Nylander, as well as his strictly better defensive game</div></div>
Don’t waste your time on him. The BIGGEST homer on this site hands down. At different times he has argued Dermott over Hanifin and that Price played better than Andersen in the play ins. And he’s a snitch to boot.

Right now Suzuki is #1 and KK is so close to #2, but you saw last night when both have off nights what happens because both stunk in the faceoffs and Danault was more visible yesterday. I don't think contending teams should ever worry about upcoming UFAs. You owe it to your players in the lineup and the fans to "go for it" in the current. And so what if leaves as UFA. Let's imagine he gets 5m from another team. Well the Habs can certainly spend 5m and get a very good player themselves.

Ron Hextall would certainly bring some youthful (Can I say youthful?) enthusiasm to the position, as well as some veteran (Ah Christ, if I say "veteran" it probably somehow makes it seem like I'm saying "Old"!) leadership to the position, as he has experience (I'M NOT REFERRING TO HIS AGE!), and could potentially bring in some more Michael Matheson-type players, who play the game the right way!
Have a wonderful weekend!</div></div>

Gotta think Montreal is in a "win" mode, so Denault needs to stay this season.

It’s very lateral tbh.
Petterson value = hanafin
Bluegar=Bennett
Both teams will stick with the guys they know. Not a bad trade, just really lateral like you said.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SmugTkachuk</b></div><div>Interesting, you almost wonder if a team makes a trade like this if they send the player right to Calgary and put him up in a hotel so he can get right to it when the team lands in calgary</div></div>
It's such a complicated process. The Oilers lost Anton Forsberg on waivers, so they claimed Troy Grosenick. If the Oilers had been playing at home he would have been able to be in their lineup within x number of days (can't remember how many lol). Instead they are on the road and because of that, only had a bit of a goalie issue.
I don't think there will be too many trades this season, but when there are I think the timing will be key. Try to time it just before a homestand so your guy doesn't miss as much time.

Dubois = Monny + Bennett imo. And no way CBJ would do Gio and a first for Bjorkstrand. Hes our best forward and we need him, even if Gio is the better player currently

Ranking Aspects of the Canadian Division
I don’t agree with a lot of this, but I can also understand some of them. The goaltending tandems make sense, I personally think CGY goaltending is overrated but I don’t hate them at 2. Toronto’s goaltending is overrated, I mean their D is too. If you don’t put them at 1 for all categories leafs fans will cry, the majority of them live in their own little fantasy world. Now that I have looked it over, I don’t mind most of the choices. The only change I can point out is swapping MTL and CGY on top 6 defence.

North Division Standings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SmugTkachuk</b></div><div>Eh, my bias says boom, they're so deep now with Simon, Leivo, Nordstrom. Lindholm and Tkachuk together has looked like a game changing pairing, also takes hard minutes away from Monahan and Gaudreau, Mangiapane is always getting better, they've had Dube with Backlund which has done wonders for anyone that plays with Backlund in the past. They had a presidents trophy winning percentage after Geoff Ward took over last year. It was a poorly coached Bill Peter's team all year last year, this year is Geoff Ward's team and the line shuffling and special teams in camp has shown that. Rasumus Andersson is quarterbacking PP1 which I think will shock a lot of people at how well he can shoot and move the puck.</div></div>
No, I meant bust because of your quote "I think Calgary has the most boom or bust team in the division for sure". I doubt Calgary has 1st place potential but for sure in the playoffs if they perform well but they could totally place 6th if they bust. While Winnipeg is expected to be 5th or 6th place cuz of their defence....but they have the talent up front and the best goalie to place high in the division if their D can actually play good

Fair enough. I'm just pointing out that the team posted is highly unlikely to exist.

Mattias Ekholm
Over the past 2 seasons Ekholm has been worth approximately ~9 <em>more </em> Standings Points than Nurse. Which is absurd. In that timeframe there are a total of 50 Dmen who have racked up at least 3000 mins on the ice. Of those 50, Ekholm is 12th...Nurse is 45th. He's been literally below replacement over the past 2 seasons while Ekholm has been one of the league's top defenders. The gap between Nurse and Ekholm in terms of on-ice performance over the last 2 years is equal to the gap between Brady Skjei and Victor Hedman...

Hmm... not totally opposed to acquiring Forsberg if he can actually play the right side (I know he doesn't in Nashville). Not sure on the price, that's a lot of depth and a lot of futures to give up, but he does have 2 years left. I would probably prefer to give up Mangiapane instead of Pelletier+Bennett, I feel like Bennett's value is fairly low right now and we can't give up both of our bottom six centres. We'll also need Pelletier's ELC to stay cap compliant either next year or the year after, whenever he's ready. Mangiapane+Ryan+1st+Ruzicka or something for Forsberg maybe? Tampa definitely nixes the whole thing though, they will get a boatload of elite assets for Stamkos if they must trade him.
