He’s worth a contract. Not 7.25mil, but for 3mil or less for sure, I could still see him put up 15-20 goals in a middle six role for the next couple years

I can see a bunch of teams giving him a contract so he wouldnt be getting a pto. He had 42 points in the previous season and when healthy hes still a good player but alcohol effects your body's ability to heal and stuff like that so when he says hes been struggling with alcohol addiction it's no surprise that hes been injured so often.

Anything under 3 mill for a year is a steal, hes a good player but needs to play a support role with a good skater. A good middle 6 forward

I don't like Bobby Ryan, but at under a million I'd take a flyer on him in a middle 6 role.

I think my thought with the two year deal was that the Flames can look at re signing him the same year Giordano and Gaudreau come off the payroll, would be a complete reassessment of the Flames that year and Anderson can play his way into a big role. Thanks for the feedback!</div></div>
Yeah, the number most CBJ fans keep coming back to is a 4x4 deal, which isn't unreasonable (and could even be a bargain) if he's healthy. But if he's playing with such talented offensive forwards, I have to think (agent Darren) Ferris will salivate at the chance to juice his stats for a year and enter UFA.

Thank you for actually having a legit comment, this is a very valid claim, I know an overpayment would be the only way you guys would move him, would it be better if I took out Bennett so you guys could still have him on the pk?

Bennett is not a PK specialist, hes ok on it I guess. Lindholm is basically a slightly worse version of Marner but can take face offs, hit 30 goals and cost 1/3 in cap. He is far too important to the organization and team to move at all

Hahah good call, just thought he was a good defensive player and a body bruiser (when he needs to) so he would be able to take up some pk time

Getting MAF through Detroit
Honestly I think if the Wings are eating $3Mx2 and moving Glendening, they would want a 1st. So maybe that's Kylington + 1st (CGY) or something to that effect, but I'm not sure Kylington or Jankowski move the needle much for Detroit.

Yeah I wasn't saying it was crazy far fetched or off, I hope you didn't take it that way, it's pretty reasonable for small pieces added. The nj 2nd is a good start, Calgary maybe takes out janik and adds in dube? Not 100% sure exactly, but I like this deal in theory. Would love to some how get dorofyev

Take out Glendening replace with Erne/Perlini. Keep the NJD 2nd. Wings probably have slim to no interest in 4th liner Jankowski, they have plenty 4th line options. Oliver Kylington is a little more interesting, but ultimately doesn’t really fit bc Wings need a minutes eater at LD right away now for next season. Kylington seemed to digress last season or at the least needs more development time since Flames didn’t seem to trust him yet. And then we have Cholowski, Jared McIsaac, and Albert Johansson... I think Kylington just crowds their progression, so not very interesting piece either. We are better off signing a veteran LD in UFA, someone like Dillon, Gustaffson, Greene to help hold fort down. So I’d ask for CGY’s 2nd and Dubé. If not CGY’s 1st straight up. Maybe the 2nd and a future 2nd.

The deal construct is right. I think DET would prefer to move Helm before Glendening, though I believe both will be moved by the TDL in 2021. Maybe VGK's prospect value would be a little higher for Glendening than Helm. But overall I think this is one way Stevie will weaponize cap space.

It's a terrible comparison imho... Ryan Ellis once scored 36goals Jordan Harris has never surpassed 7. Yes SEVEN goals. Harris will not be anything more than a Nathan Beaulieu.

Pietrangelo and NYR Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SmugTkachuk</b></div><div>Fair enough, I think this deal is only a thought if the Flames somehow got Pietrangelo which I don't see happening. I think teams will value Monahan less than what us as fans do because they look at his numbers with Gaudreau they see a player that is a great 2C but they're not looking to acquire him as a 1C</div></div>
I've been a big fan of his game for a while now. Last year was an anomaly, he's a 60 pt center who plays a really good two way game. The Rangers don't need a 1C , they need a cost controlled 2C with Mika Zib's impending UFA after next season. He's likely to run them 7x10.5 or more, so getting a 2C of Monahans caliber/cap hit would do them wonders. But what do I know

MONAHAN THE SAVIOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SmugTkachuk</b></div><div>I like it for the Flames. Improves our right side with a younger controllable guy, I know the above is suggesting to re sign /brodie who was great down the stretch but has horrendous stretches every year and skating d men don't age as well as most. Getting younger on the right side and giving us the ability to protect Hanifin, Andersson, Dumba from Seattle is a great option. Flames would obviously need to make other moves to supplement this and improve up front but running Lindholm, Backlund, Haula, Bennett down the middle without Monahan doesn't bother me at all</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flamesfan</b></div><div>I know this is the rumour going around but it makes no sense for Calgary to do they could resign Brodie and that would put Dumba in their bottom pairing. Monahan is way more important center is their weakest position. So this trade isn’t happening sorry to burst your bubble. Flames 1000% decline</div></div>
The framework here is close.
That being said, it's still a 2nd pairing D and a 3rd line RW for Monahan.
The 9th overall selection needs to be included or the Flames look elsewhere. It could even be a pick swap, 9th for 19th to go along with the proposed deal. Although, the Flames will push to keep both picks. There would be a very large market for Monahan, if they choose to move him

We don't have to choose either for the Seattle draft, as Elvis is exempt. And there's no way this trade happens. Horrible value for Columbus.
