Whats the ask
I think this would be a question that wouldn't be answered until midseason, since we likely won't know what specific areas of the Kraken roster would need to be upgraded before then. For now, I think in the highly unlikely scenario Wright ends up as trade bait he'd likely be dealt in one of two different scenarios:
- As part of a package for a star, say a game breaking goalscorer or top-tier defenseman
- In a swap for a young NHLer of similar caliber at another position
I think it's also worth mentioning that the Kraken let Geekie go in part so Wright could slide into the lineup, so there's a chance that if the Kraken are in the thick of cup contention by the middle of the next season he's a big reason why.

Would ARI move him
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowball</b></div><div>With Cooley and Geekie being 1C and 2C in the future, ARI could move Hayton for an upgrade either on defense or in goal, no?
IMO I’m guessing they’re more likely to move Schmaltz for an upgrade as he’s a little ahead of their timeline. But if it was a good enough package could they possibly move Hayton?</div></div>

Hayton likely stays at 1C, he has incredible chemistry with Keller and schmaltz. 2C should be Cooley’s, much in the same way Hughes is jersey’s 2C, it’s a matchup nightmare. Geekie is either getting 3C or 2Lw. If anyone was to get moved it would be schmaltz, but that’s only if guenther pushed him out

VGK Question
If any defenseman gets moved, it's most likely Martinez in my opinion. When he's healthy and on his game, he's very valuable. He just has an injury bug he can't seem to get rid of. McNabb is a very valuable defensive player who can stick around for a while assuming he's willing to keep the same cap hit or less.
The definite untouchables on this team heading into this coming year are Eichel, Marchessault, Stone, Theodore, Karlsson, and Barbashev.
The probably untouchables are Pietrangelo (expensive and on the decline, but has a NMC), Stephenson (depending on what he wants on his next deal), Roy, Whitecloud.
The probably keeps but I could see being on the block depending on how the year goes are Hague, Martinez, Hill, Carrier.
The only player I expect to be moved depending on if he takes the next step or not is Cotter. I like him as a person and player, but he could be more valuable as a chip than a player if he doesn't solidify his spot in the lineup.
At this point, I'm not sure if any prospect is really untouchable. There are some I'd definitely like to keep--Korczak, Lindbom, Brisson--but if it comes down to moving them for a piece that'll help the repeat, I'd say go for it.

I think a second and Studnicka is pretty fair, center is area of need, but mostly picks are important.

Little Tight but Hopeful
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowball</b></div><div>I agree, but Grez being hometown boy made me assume they would move Reilly over him but either way, someone got to go IMO
Foligno, doesn’t have to be non-contender, just threw BUF up there, NSH has plenty of cap and could use some depth possibly, LAK is same , again may not happen and worse comes to worse they can buy him out for only 1.9 so either way should be able to move on from him if they choose</div></div>
Can’t run a team on sentiment. If they did Chara would still be here.
Grizz to Isles for Mayfield today would make a lot of sense. Isles need a 2nd pair d man. Pulock/Dobson locked in top 4 for years. Mayfield has another year left and saves B’s 2m in cap space.

Reilly or Forbort I can see being moved, more Reilly really but not both. I'd take either for a 3rd in detroit. The off-season all hinges on what Bergeron does.

Bruins Need A C Read Description Please
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowball</b></div><div>It’s all good, thanks for input again. And I expect some FLA talk in here also, I’ll have to find the article I read (maybe it was a video IDK) about FLA possibly being willing to move Lundell as it was awhile ago and I can’t remember but yes I’m sure it was for a top LHD, guessing the Chychrun to FLA trade rumor,</div></div>
It was reported that Arizona wants Lundell and/or Knight for Chychrun but Zito has stated that they are non-starters in any trade discussions. That can always change of course but highly unlikely.

So I think Florida would move lundell but not in this kind of deal. Florida is in win now mode so I only see lundell moving if he's a part of bringing in a better player not for parts even if they're good parts.

The Pavel Zacha Market
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Debrusk has been better over last couple weeks...but Zacha has been better over last couple of years.
And certainly did well last night.</div></div>
you mean last year. 1, singularly. debrusk has had 1 bad year. 43 in 70 as a rookie (16 goals), 42 in 68 year 2 (27 goals), 35 in 65 year 3 (19 goals), 14 in 41 year 4 (4 goals), 24 in 48 (current) (14 goals) (currently on paced for 41 points and 24 goals over an 82 game period).
comparison wise: zacha 24 in 70 (rookie year) (8 goals), 25 in 69 year 2 (8 goals), 25 in 61 year 3 (13 goals), 32 in 65 year 4 (8 goals), 35 in 50 year 5 (17 goals), 25 in 50 year 6 (12 goals) Current pace of 20 goals. other than last year his production was never higher than debrusks. so lets cool it on the "zachas been better for a few years" 1... 1 year he was better. doesnt make him worth more.

LeBrun Interviewed Verbeek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>I look at as 1st for Rakell with 50% retention. Fair.
Debrusk & Moore for Steel. Debrusk is not coming back next year and his trade value is not commensurate with his production. Dumping Moore off the books and getting a forward back who has not hit his potential and under team control. I have seen worse ideas. Especially if they extend Rakell which should be doable.
Is it ideal. No of course not. But it’s better than most ideas on here. If they don’t extend Rakell then it’s a loss.</div></div>
I wouldn't rule out JDB coming back if the B's can't find a deal they like.
Sam Steel is pending RFA (like DeBrusk) and he's only a year younger than DeBrusk. Could you also say then that DeBrusk has not hit his potential and under team control? Over the last 3 years DeBrusk in the same amount of games as Steel has 20 more points. So we're downgrading a forward to gain an extra $1.6 million in cap space by moving Moore?
Could the re-sign Rakell? sure, but he could also walk. Like you said if that happens then its a loss and what we have to show for a 1st + DeBrusk + Moore is.....Sam Steel

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Salzy</b></div><div>Out of curiosity what would you give for Rakell with 50% retention ?</div></div>
Honestly not much more than DeBrusk. In a DeBrusk for Rakell swap the Bruins wouldn't "need" ANH to retain on Rakell to make the cap work, so no extra juice value wise there. Maybe a mid pick or prospect with DeBrusk, but nothing that will get ANH fans excited.

gonna need more scoring if playing Tampa or Toronto never in my life have I heard a team couldn't use more scoring come playoff time especially for a team that hasn't won a playoff series since the 90's
