Kylington ok but he isn't worth all this. Calgary is going to have to pay to move Lucic and he is not the guy to put into a young locker room. He is a full blown psychopath. Like it or not Suter is our 2nd best center and a big part of the reason Larkin was able to stay on the 1st line and develop chemistry with Raymond. I don't think a lot of people realize how good Edvinsson really is. If you think Kylington and Seider would be good together wait until you see Seider and Edvinsson together

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spicoli</b></div><div>What would Forsling cost?</div></div>
Forsling isn't going anywhere, the team is still trying to compete
But I suppose if you were bent on gauging his value, it is in excess of a mid first round pick, being a top 4 defenseman with 2 years remaining at such a low cost

I think a first if they did wanna move him but it doesn’t seem like they’re going to this season

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>The goalie market sucks though. Look at Murray only getting a 2nd and Lenher only getting a 2nd and subban. And yes I know, those goalies signed to way bigger contracts then Bernier, but they also have way higher pedigree. The goalie market sucks right now.
And as for bernier for fleury straight up yes of course VGK would do it, but Detroit obviously doesn’t as you said. The issue I have, is the cost to move fleury won’t be that much, and the return to trade fleury to another team with retention won’t be that high either. The concept makes sense, but the execution needs work</div></div>

I think Bernier could snag a late 2nd high 3rd. Its not that hes amazing, but hes cheap and good. I do agree that the trade above doesnt make a ton of sense. However, i think you are wrong that Vegas could retain 3m by themselves, the whole point is how up against the wall they are, and need to clear space without retaining, specifically because they paid 2 goalies too much as a tandem. I believe if offered Bernier for Fleury straight up, they likely would, but why would Deroit? they need assets to take on such a high price tag. In essence I think the trade here is heavy on the assets but the train of thought is very fair. Detroit takes on retaining salary and flips him for assets.

Just a thought
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spicoli</b></div><div>Any Colorado fans think their end of the proposed trade would work, or would it need to be adjusted, or would it be a flat no?</div></div>
It seems like a pretty lateral move for COL - both play similar roles (heavy defensive mins, heavy PK usage, identical TOI/GP both on good teams). Graves is likely gone in the expansion draft after this season anyway, so I think from COLs perspective they are basically choosing which D man they want to rent for 1 season. In terms of handedness Cernak fits better than Graves on paper, but Cole has played enough on the right side that I would still be comfortable running with 4LHD and 2RHD - I dont think its that big of a factor. Filppula would probably be a healthy scratch on COL tbh, and even at 50% retention I would rather not take him. Overall the value seems ok, but imo Avs would probably stick with Graves because he already knows their systems and has chemistry with the team already

NSH isn't in a position to give 1st rounders to 30+ year old's with long-term contracts, even with that retention.

No thanks, Staal is a top5 worst D in the league. Move Nemeth instead, you'll get more for him (and he isn't bad).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Spicoli</b></div><div>If Cernak and a 3rd wouldn't get Dunn, what do you think Dunn would cost?
As for Perunovich, depending on what happens with the AHL, I wouldn't be shocked if he got 3rd line minutes as he got adjusted to the NHL.</div></div>
1- Some imagine that, theoretically, Dunn might cost a mid-first or a 20-ish goal winger. But I think the Blues would need to be bowled over to deal him.
2- The left side already has Krug, Scandella (who seems to be Parayko's permanent partner at this point) and Dunn. So unless someone is out, I don't know where he could possibly find minutes.

At this point, the Islanders have to take that.
I don't even mind Helm as a depth piece for a year at that price
