Oh, I didn't know. Are they short-term IR or LTIR issues?

I have noticed that many seems really high on Veleno. Is he good enough to be 2C, dropping Nielsen to 3C and moving Filppula to 3LW?

Maybe not, but I seem to remember Dickinson and Hintz having good chemistry in the playoffs, albeit with Zuccarello (and it will have to be Pavelski now). That's why I put Dickinson over Janmark.

Interesting! This is the kind of information that's "impossible" to keep track of, when trying to get a grip on teams. Not impossible in the way it can't be found, but it would be so time-consuming. Thank for valuable input!

I hesitated before putting Gavrikov in, because he doesn't need to go through waivers to be sent down to Cleveland. Kukan and Clendening must, as well as Milano. That might weigh into things in the last days of training camp and pre-season.

Toews is absolutely the best center, I agree. My thought was of the two fairly even top lines (as a whole), as a 1A/1B kind of situation.

Will be looking for Studnicka's name in the pre-season news then.
Personally, I have a soft spot for Cehlarik after playing a few years for my favorite team in Sweden, but unless Backes is buried in the organization (moving Heinen to 2RW, Coyle to 3C and Kuraly to 4C), I don't see a spot for him on this roster. Guess time will tell.
Thank you all for your inputs!

It's not just you, because even I'm fascinated by the amount of talented forwards in the Ducks organisation. Could it be a "problem" with all forwards trying to get jobs within 1-3 years? Maybe a trade for a top 4 D-man?

Valimaki is put at least until playoffs (probably all year) so put him in LTIR. If DSP makes the team, which he probably will, Frolik will be traded. I figured Tkachuk wouldn't get paid more than Monahan or Gaudreau, but on the other hand, those contract were signed a few years ago. So yeah, you are probably right about that.
Ah, didn't know it was that bad for Valimaki.

In armchair-GM, you can choose if you only want to see posts regarding one specific team, but it's not possible to choose the "NHL" general one. That would be good.

Top Prospect team
ANA C Sam Steel is still a rookie.
I also wonder about Aleksi Heponiemi in Florida. He scored 46 points in 50 games playing against men in the Finnish league last season. He's another one fighting for a roster spot in Panthers' line-up, alongside Owen Tippett, though he lacks Tippett's size.

Is Jimmy Schuldt Ready for the Top 4
Could be a competition for a top-4 role. Obviously I don't watch Chicago Wolves' games, but Nic Hague and Zach Whitecloud had good years in the AHL, just looking at the numbers. Whitecloud is also a RHD, which could help?

Having Vatrano and Connolly as third line wingers would mean good depth, so maybe they'll try to slot a youngster into the 2RW place. I wonder if Aleksi Heponiemi could be an option for that spot too.

My take on Capitals 2019-20
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Interesting, and complicated. </div></div>
First of all, thank you for an in-depth comment. Highly appreciated!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Of course, if the Caps played Djoos with either of Carlson/Orlov this year, they could get him to 30 points. </div></div>
That's true. I also think Djoos has more in him than he has shown so far and playing top-four minutes would definitely boost his numbers. If we can't fit him anyway, it has still upped his trade value, if it comes to that.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>...posting Djoos for Ehn+pick. </div></div>
Ah, didn't know the Red Wings fanbase are into Djoos. Thought that Cholowski (or Seider) could make the team this season, but the major re-build would be next summer with Green, Ericsson and Daley's contracts all expires.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>Davidsson gets it done. Kukan, not so much. </div></div>
The Kukan/Kivlenieks for Bindulis/Copley trade doesn't mean much for either team in the long run, I agree, but helping with some minor tweaks this season.
BTW, Davidsson? If you mean Jonathan, he was sent to Ottawa in the Duchene trade.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>It's not great value for Djoos, and Ehn isn't any better than Stephenson so far, but he's got more time to develop, and maybe a big role in Hershey could help? </div></div>
Maybe. He has the size to be a fourth-liner, but can't remember seeing him that much, not even while playing in Sweden, so don't remember if he use it or not. LW Ehn, C Dowd and RW Hathaway in 2020/21? Sure, why not.

I agree with what you say, I would also have Labanc over Heinen, BUT Labanc's contract is an abnormality. Heinen's seems like a "normal" contract for point productions of such.

Lines your thoughts
Don't like giving away three picks for the kind of players (of the same caliber) we can sign as UFAs. Fabbri for one pick MAY be something, and then signing him for cheap as he has to prove himself after two injury-riddled seasons. Still, he won't play in the 2nd while Vrana plays in 3rd.
