MTL and NYI cap dump idea
Without retention, Anderson is untradeable. For anything. Well, ok for Marc Vlasic 1 v 1 maybe but that's it. Which defeats the purpose of trading him in the first place.
There is only 3 options. Keep Anderson and try to revive his game enough to make a team bite on a trade next year or trade him with like 50% retention now for like a 3rd/4th rounder at best or Buyout.
The only realistic option is the first one.

Goodrow was structured for a buyout. He’s half the cap hit as Anderson. Both overpaid and underachieving no doubt. 1 for 1 and NYR pass.

Celebrini
This is a horrible trade for Montreal. And I know that they won’t actually do it but I think the sharks should legitimately consider a deal with Montreal for a bit less. They need quality but they also need quantity. We could offer a decent amount of legit prospects plus flipping our pick and they’d still definitely be in the drivers seat for top 3 next year. Again they won’t do it but they probably should.

your is flawed man. suzuki 70 point season is the outlier too the way you think.</div></div>
No the difference is Suzuki has been progressing towards a 70 point season every year, if he has another 60 point season next year, then yes this year would be his outlier as well. Necas hasn't progressed every year, he has been a 50 point player every year leading up to his 70 point season, then followed that 70 point season up with another 55 point season, that's the definition of an outlier, something outside the norm.
Also Domi scored 72 points when he was 24, Necas scored 71 points when he was 24, same age. The fact that Necas is regressing back to his normal 55 point average should scare GM's off signing him to big money for long term.

Oof buying Gally out is not a good idea, Habs would be paying for that when they’ll need the cap the most.
As for Anderson, maybe Hughes will prove me wrong but I just don’t see him being tradeable after the season he’s had unless it’s for another cap dump. I’d like to see him start next season in the minors and have to earn his way back up like Armia did.

Habs win Celebrini lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>Necas isnt worth any of those three unless Carolina is adding a sweetener. Plus the whole hypothetical situation here is that Necas is a cap casualty, so trading him for a player with the same cap hit or higher doesn't make any sense, which means it would be picks and prospects for Necas.
I get what you want but fans on this site are doing Necas trades with the idea that Carolina can't afford to resign him because they choose to sign Jarvis long term, 8+ million, resign Skeji, resign Pesce and resign Guentzel. Leaving now room for Necas</div></div>
See what I mean, they <strong>think</strong> Necas has a McDavid trajectory when reality is he has Domi's. He is a 40-60 point 2nd line forward who will occasionally put up 70 points, that's it. He isn't going to suddenly become a ppg player at 26 or supplant Suzuki or Aho ad the number 1C. He is a solid 2nd line forward who will need a new contract and is looking at north of 7 mil. The fact that these Canes fans would rather lose 3 very important peices to their lineup for nothing over getting a decent return for a 2nd line player is actually quite sad.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Once again, the notion that the Canes can’t afford a Necas extension is laughable. Turbo, Skjei, and Pesce all likely have to walk, but the damage from that has also been mitigated with other acquisitions. Necas is a player who isn’t a great fit in a defense first system, but would relatively easily be putting up 80-100+ points in an offensive system that utilizes Necas biggest strengths.
That being said, one of the biggest reasons why the Canes aren’t going to consider the vast majority of these packages, is between people thinking the Canes don’t have the cap space to sign Necas, and the fact that any team wanting to acquire Necas would have to buy off a contending team that has no reason to trade him. Much like the Blues with Buchnevich, you would have to give them a reason to trade away their asset, and it’s going to take more than a late 1st, a prospect, and an assortment of picks.</div></div>
Do you seriously think Pesce and Skeji are going to be easy to replace at less than 2 mil each?! That is some kind of delusion you have there, you don't just replace top 4 D men like they grow on trees.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>All of the 3 players have much more value than Necas...................................... Bergevin isn't anymore the Habs GM.......
Caufield have somes better offensive stats than Necas at a younger age, Suzuki is able to carry offensively a full team and Slaf can hit easily the 70-80 pts mark next season.
But Necas is now 25-26, have a good season (and haved a breakout season last year with playing with Aho, etc.), but already hit his prime.</div></div>
I agree, hence the reason I said he was delusional. He thinks Necas is McDavid or MacKinnon, hell most Canes fans seem to think that. Necas has a career average of 55 points a season, which he is once again conveniently on pace for but they see that 71 point season as being his norm not the outlier it is. Necas has Domi's value yet they think he is McDavid or something.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>The cost to dump Dvorack can be a 2nd round pick, and that's why I added that.</div></div>
Dvorak isn't a cap dump, most fans on here don't view players the way GM's do. Dvorak has had some injury woes and some down production cause he doesn't fit the offense first style the Habs want to play since the new management took over but send him to a defensive team like the Canes, Kings or Stars and he will do much better, and that how GM's will view him

And just looks what I wrote for the Canes, they can use that to make an offer for a player like Buchnevich.
And when you talking about one of their three roster players, who they are ?</div></div>
He thinks he is getting one of Caufield, Suzuki or Slaf + a 1st for Necas. It's really not worth talking to Canes fans about cause they take delusional to a whole new unforseen level

Hutson was a second rounder that's exceeded expectations. The difference between Cat, Fiala and Necas is that Necas isn't a winger. He wants to play center, that's what is sparking the entire rumor of him being moved. Carolina can afford to keep him, but you're not paying for a winger.</div></div>
Necas is 8th in CAR total faceoffs, with a 34.8 FOW%. That is a winger, no debate.
I do agree that CAR should get more than that for him, but a team will be paying for a winger

That’s not too far off what Necas’ trade value would be as an RFA
Fiala, who was better and also the same age as Necas is returned the 19th pick and a good prospect recently taken in the 2nd round (Faber has obviously exceeded expectations but he wasn’t expected to be this good)
Debrincat as a 25 year old RFA last year returned a late 1st, a 4th, Kubalik, and a meh prospect. I think most people would say Debrincat is better than Necas as well
You can say the second piece needs to be a bit better than the Avs 2nd rounder, but it’s not that far off based on historical comps for RFA wingers

Meh, if someone told me the Habs had to move Dvo for a 3rd if they wanted to bring another vet via free agency like Toffoli or Monahan, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Just depends on the situation. What if Habs draft a Center (Celebrini, Lindstrom, Catton) and they prove to be ready at training camp and Hughes needs to make room for them? Zero issues dumping Dvo for a 3rd.

You realize that Guerin is going to want Stutzle for Eriksson-Ek, right? Which is absolute lunacy for Ottawa to do. But, it's what it would cost for Guerin to even consider moving a Selke caliber 30-goal scorer who only is getting better and better with each passing year.
It may have taken him until his age 27 season, but Ekkers absolutely looked and felt like a legitimate 1C this year. He's easily the most important player in Minnesota not named Kaprizov. Even more so than Faber too.</div></div>
I understand this…I can still like the trade.
