Keller Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JSteff5656</b></div><div>Keller is a stud. He is far better than likely anyone available in next years free agent market (unless Matthews actually makes it). He’s only 24, and on a great contract.
On a line with Larkin and DeBrincat I’d be willing to bet he puts up 100 points. I bet trading for him would make us a playoff team.
Still could have some room to add more in next years free agent class too. Buyout Chariot and we have the same amount of capspace as before a Keller trade that sends back Fabbri.</div></div>
If Toronto, Vegas, and TB can stay under the cap for three straight Covid years, I’m sure we’ll do just fine

He is going to likely request a trade, just like everyone else good from Arizona. He’s not gonna want to spend his entire prime on a team that sucks, doesn’t have an arena, and has an uncertain future. 1/3 of your payroll doesn’t even play.</div></div>
Rumor has it, he already requested a trade out but intentionally kept it internal to not be a distraction or get a bad rap

Love Helly but no, I would not do that. Honestly, i’d have to think longer than I should about doing a Husso for Helly straight up! I would, but it’s closer than you’d think

Keller Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DeadWingsv2</b></div><div>Detroit is not, and should not, be taking on any more big contracts right now. We have too many pending FA that are going to need big raises and we can look to use the rest of the cap next season once that's sorted.
Also, trading Wallinder would be a big mistake. Kid is going to be a stud.</div></div>
Also, contract wise, assuming we traded Fabbri, we could sign Mo to 9.5 and Raymond to 6.5 and still be cap healthy. Worst case scenario, buy out Chiarot to make more room. Also, the cap should increase substantially next year

I agree Wallinder will be a stud, hence why I added him. Keller will be 25 at the start of next season and ks a pt per game player for a terrible AZ team with 4-years term at a very manageable cost! The dude will cost a lot!

Keep DeBrincat until the deadline
His base salary the final year of the deal was 9 mil so I think that’s what the qualifying offer would have to be at

So, a 1-year arbitration deal then? Which would take him to UFA? Risk losing him for nothing?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Erbas1915</b></div><div>Well I see the 3rd being for Vladar, which is fine. Then Veleno I don't value much, Soderblom was super inconsistent and could easily be back in Europe in 3 years, and then the picks are 2024/2025 which would mean those players don't make an impact for like 3-4 years at least.
I don't think you'd get Lindholm without a 2023 1st as the starting point, then add a higher quality prospect</div></div>
Lindholm aside; Soderblom is/was a 21 yo in his first NHL action, of course he was inconsistent. If you held a redraft today, he would be drafted in the first round without question.

Just to get it right; as a Pit fan, you like the idea of trading down in the draft from 14 to 28 and 43 while offloading Granlund? Cause I’m expecting most people to tear me a new one

That’s why I’d top ten protect it. To be honest, I think the Bos pick will be better than Det but I’m a homer and probably a degenerate drunk so what do I know

I’d much rather lose a pick next year than this year. Number 17 this year could be the same quality as a top 10 next!

I disagree with them, I think the Det trade is realistic, maybe a little too high. I’d add top 10 protection on the 1st and maybe swap Berg with someone else but I’d prob still accept losing Berg

Yea, Det does that in a heart beat and probably adds more to get it done. 3 years in the KHL or not, Michkov is a special talent that would, in all likelihood, be first overall in 6 out of the last 7 drafts if he wasn’t Russian.
