2022-2023 Offseason Contenders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J_282512</b></div><div>MTL won't do this, they're very high on Romanov and he has taken huge steps in his D game this year, but also with provorov signed at 4yrs to 6.7M I think they rather keep Romanov since he's up at the end of the year and will be a lot cheaper.
I don't think LA does this either, they don't really need more Forwards, their D is getting older so they need to keep their young guns like Spence.</div></div>
La could use more top 6 forwards. Maybe switch Spence out for Vilardi and its a deal

Manson I believe already wants more than 5.8 tbh that's one of the reasons they unloaded him. And Giroux would take a discount to come back to Philly. If he doesn't want to come back then yes 6 Mil anywhere else

I can see why it may not be enough value but they are also taking a lot of cap space. I think Sanheim and Ellis could be a solid pair and York has shown signs of a good defenseman. i think Cole and Walker could be a solid bottom D pair. But I do agree Defense needs to improve in front of Hart

Iginla had scored 30+ I believe 12 consecutive years at the time of the trade. He went on to do it the following year in boston too. Giroux has achieved that once, i want to say five years ago. So, no to that one.
The closest we can come was eight seasons ago, for a vezina winning goaltender (though he was traded with Steve Ott, who was a pretty decent player at the time). I think that kind of proves the point.
</div></div>
being a better goal scorer than a guy is a playmaker proves nothing. Thats like saying Mattews is better than players like Mcdavid, MacKinnon. Your sleeping on Giroux's value. Lazar is an ahl top 6 forward at best on a good team so he really means nothing in this trade. Debrusk a 1st and a 2nd for Giroux is about fair. maybe get rid of the 2nd then its more than fair

The ryan miller trade i stated was pretty close. but remember Giroux is a better player than the ones ive named. Ignila was better overall career but when he got traded no. Plus Debrusk wants out of boston anyways

Can you give me a comparable deadline rental trade where one player, without retention even, got a 1st, 2nd, a depth roster player, and a 25 year old playing at a 24 goal/82GP pace?
I think you’ll have a lot of difficulty.</div></div>
Also in 2014 Ryan Miller traded to St Louis for Halak Chris stewart (on a 20 goal pace) william carrier (prospect) a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick.

Last year Nick Foligno was traded at deadline and columbus got a 1st and a 4th for him. I mean its not as much as giroux is getting in this trade but giroux is definitely worth more than Foligno

Braun is pretty solid idk why you think he isnt that good. He has +/- of 2 on a terrible team and has prolly been their most consistent defenseman all year.

My realistic deadline moves What the team looks like with a healthy roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>Utter nonsense. He hasn't told the Flyers he'll waive. It's been reported he hasn't even had that conversation with Fletcher yet. The Avs haven't said Barron is expendable. Stop making stuff up to fit your own narrative.</div></div>
Not making anything up bud. Do your research. At first in mid February Giroux said he wanted to see if they can still fight for a playoff spot then they lost like the next 5 games after he said that and then they had the conversation. Deadline is pretty close you really think Giroux and Fletcher didn't have talks about it yet?😂 and play do you live under a rock he literally said Giroux wants to be traded to the avalanche and if that doesn't work then the wild and blues are also suitable options. But he said he doesn't want to be traded before deadline prolly because he plays his 1000th game in Philly on March 17th which is 4 days before the deadline.

Flyers wants a younger player that plays now a prospect and a 1st. So I think if we switch Dermott and Liljgren we would be set or Robertson I would be okay with too.

A better return. I mean I guess it's not the worst. But I would want Sandin or liljgren instead of Dermott

My realistic deadline moves What the team looks like with a healthy roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>That's pretty different than "Avs have said Barron is expendable".
Giroux would be great to have but I do think the focus needs to be on improving the bottom six. That can be done, in part, by adding Giroux and pushing Nuke to the third line but I'm not sure that's enough, especially on the 4th line. And the price has to be right; at this point, word is that Giroux hasn't even talked to management about waiving his NMC so any reports at this point are probably more speculative than anything.</div></div>
Actually Giroux said he will waive his NMC and told Fletcher he wants to go to the Avalanche and if a trade doesn't work out there then he said the Blues and the wild are also places he could go to. He did tell Fletcher though he does not want to be traded before the trade deadline so On trade deadline day that's when Giroux will waive his NMC

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>They have? I'd like to see where Joe Sakic says that. There will be room for Barron next year and moving forward. Philly is much more likely to get Helleson than Barron.</div></div>
Flyers asked for Newhook and The avs said no way. They haven't said that about Barron so one would assume he isn't off the table ;) you also got to remember. Giroux could go to the blues or wild and the avs wouldn't want Giroux going to a playoff rival
