Another Skinner Buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BUF10</b></div><div>A skinner buyout is as likely as stamkos signing in Buffalo</div></div>
Skinner being bought out is going to happen sooner or later, if it doesn't happen this off season it will happen next

If you still want the pest element, I'm confident that you could get similar for cheaper while saving the trade chip that is Savoie.</div></div>
Kadri has almost twice as many points at Jenner and Carrier combined. Kadri can still play and has a solid 3 years left. Kadri and Jenner together gives the Sabres something they haven't had since 2007, 3 lines that can score but also can play physical

Laine being 25 years old is mind blowing, feels like he should be at least 30 by now. His body is that of a 34 year old though

Major Shake Up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeBone</b></div><div>Why would you make that trade for Kadri? I feel like adding Jenner was enough for a 3rd line revamp. In fact, I think a 3rd line of Kulich-Jenner-Savoie would be more compelling than the one you've proposed.
Also, I think there are better targets for the 4th line than Tierney and overpaying Krebs. Krebs for 1mil for 2 years and then bring back William Carrier.</div></div>
A guy like Kadri who can still produce and plays a style the Sabres are sorely lacking is a must add for this team, maybe not him but someone like him, this team doesn't have. Savoie has one NHL game under him and is undersized. The Sabres have enough of those players. Kulich at least has AHL experience playing as a teenager there

Added over 100 games worth of playoff experience with those 3 players, just because they didn't win a cup doesn't mean they don't know what it takes to win in the playoffs

Small Changes
Ottawa declines, the Philly trade is an overpay to just scratch D-lo (but I like the idea of a player like him), I wouldn't do the Ottawa trade either with Chychrun needing a new contract shortly, way too much cap tied up in the blue line with Byram needing a new deal soon

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pretzelcoatl</b></div><div>To your last point, I'm getting rid of him here because Ullmark is better.
Vanecek was already in a slump when the playoffs started, so I don't buy that he buckled under pressure.
To your first point, let's look at the numbers, adjusted for team defense.
GSAx/60, rank among goalies who played at least 10 games:
Vanecek: 0.105, 30th
UPL: -0.157, 52nd
Comrie: -0.372, 69th
Levi was good in a small sample, but may not be ready for a full starter workload. In this scenario you'd be running 1A/1B with Vanecek and Levi.</div></div>
This is why Buffalo is still looking for someone who can split time with Levi, UPL isn't it, he's been below average pretty much his entire NHL career. Vanecek on the Sabres last year and they make the playoffs. Someone like Vanecek to split the crease with Levi 50/50 for this season to get Levi acclimated to the grind of the NHL season is perfect for the Sabres. Comrie hasn't played more than 19 games in a season in the NHL, UPL is bad and Levi who is the heir apparent and future of the Sabres in net has 7 games under his belt.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PHEN</b></div><div>Vanacek was not any better then the goalies Sabres have. He is not an upgrade. With Levi UPL and Comrie and a better D that Adams addressed they will be just fine.</div></div>
Vanacek is better than any goalie the Sabres currently have and his stats prove it by a mile. Even the 7 game sample size from Levi, Vanacek has a better GAA and Save Percentage, his failure was in the playoffs.

Outlook and Assumptions
If this is a TDL move, that would assume the Sabres rookie goalie is holding his own if they are in the playoff contention, they wouldn't be giving up a 1st round pick for a goaltender at that point they would just let the rookie keep rolling.

This is an awful trade for the Sabres. Breaking it down you have Myers for Jokiharju which is bad enough. Myers and Jokiharju are basically a wash player wise, then factor in Myers age and contract that's an awful swap. Then Levi a first and a second round pick for Demk. Demko is a established starter no doubt but that trade makes zero sense especially since Levi is the future in net for the Sabres. Goalies getting traded for 1st round picks generally don't work out. See Robin Lehner to Buffalo. Demko is good but he isn't that good.

The only fair comparable sample size to go off of is their stats in the American Leauge. Jack Quinn ppg in the AHL Pool Party is not (.69 ppg). Jack Quinn is a goal scorer Pool Party was drafted to be scorer power forward, he hasn't lived up to that and it's not even close who has more value at the moment.
The Sabres laugh at this

Weegar is good but he isn't "elite", but he is a right hand shot d man which GMs constantly overpay for, so at first glance a 1st and a 2nd looks high but you're probably in the ballpark with that Edmonton deal
